Looks like they must have fixed their corrosion issues, but I'm still gonna give it a month or so before i test this out for myself. All else fails, I'll probably just buy some Red Army Standard!

I bought a Hi-Point 9mm carbine back in 1995. I shot it often because the ammo was cheap. No issues in over 15 years of constant use. I've never owned a Hi-Point handgun, so I can't speak to that, but if the handguns are anything like the carbines in terms of reliability and durability, it's a no-brainer. Hi-Point makes firearms that work. They might not be pretty, and they might have cheap plastic parts, but the plastic parts are put where they won't be an issue. These guns run great.

Appears that might have been a reloaded cartridge. Same exact thing happened to me with cheap 60 year old Chinese 223 ammo I found in my dad’s shed.

im a gunsmith, specializing on ars. if you procured a pile of bulk ammo or even reman ammo, this will explain why thats the only hornady in your stash. but if its remanufactured ammo it needs to be stated that it is indeed remans. thats another reason why knowing the source of your ammo is critical.

Do you handload? Could be a round loaded a little too hot.

What has my attention is how a rogue cartridge infiltrated your ammo? 🤔 And no idea where it came from, and that only this particular cartridge failed by blowing out the primer and shearing off part of the rim. That's what has my curiosity drawn to this mystery. 🤨

Oddly yt directed me to School of the American Rifle after watching this video. He pointed out that the gap between the firing pin and the bolt face was out of tolerance. I wonder if that might play a part of the primer ejecting. And the case rim failure.

I’ve had primers come out of reloads and jam. That case rim being ripped off is being over gassed. Either put a heavier buffer in or get an adjustable gas block.

The wolf piston uppers really need a heavy H2 or even better an H3 buffer. Anything under that those uppers tend to rip rims off the cases, and you will get early extraction problems, which can cause that exact issue

I had a random primer float around and get lodged in the upper inside the gas key preventing the weapon from going into battery. I've seen this in factory and reloaded ammunition, it's just something you need to watch out for. ;-)

Drop in cassette trigger is a must the milspec triggers are trash unless you have a full auto gun there is no point to the milspec triggers

Just checked my side rail mount and never realized it was sitting to the left on my wasr. No wonder I had such a hard time getting it sighted in

when their ammo came out i viewed videos of different rounds being tested, you could look at it and tell its the walmart of ammo and under powered, no way id buy any caliber of theirs.

I saw a full size jakl here in Pasadena gun show a few weeks ago. I filled the paper work and luckily before I paid I noticed that the side folder was really loose, it would not stay put. So I passed on it. Since then I have found a great deal on a colt m4 And my Beretta ARX 100.
