Just subbed my aunt back in 79 drove a brand new Y84 bandit special black off the showroom floor drove it for a few years then garaged it from 84-92 drove it in the summer of 92 then back in the garage till 2022 then she gifted it to me it has 23k miles it was 100% original when I got it I had the carb rebuilt new gas tank and tires and now it runs great even the old r12 AC still blows cold as ice I wish I would’ve made a video of the day I opened that garage door it had an inch of dust on it but I didn’t had it professionally buffed out and looks like a new car now just too bad the 403 olds smog motor wasn’t such a dog the rings I could do to that car would be interesting but I plan to keep it all original
About ten years ago a Jackson Executive told me that so many Corvette owners want to auction that they could have 100% just Corvettes. He also said they like variety to stimulate interest and to make the auction experience interesting and fun! He went on to explain that's why occasionally an entry that seems odd to be there was auctioned. Good for BJ!
Disappointing not to c any early C-3 vettes
50 thousand for the pace car is very sad.....should have done a raffle...
Mecum really does set the market. I was disappointed as well.
I wish you all awful things in the word
Sounds like Peoria Ford in Arizona was run by a bunch of tools. I would never go in there to buy a vehicle . . . and I am a fan of Ford trucks.
Most of the tactics are not unusual for many car dealers. It isn't just one. It's a management thing. It's a respect thing. The managers there only care about one thing: their own pocket book and they get angry of you effect it. But as Klaus said, there are "managers and there are leaders." There wasn't one single leader there.
All about pushing steel over the curb. Your only as good as your last deal.
Dealer life is unique. Doesnt matter how many videos we watch. Most would not believe what actually goes on. Ive worked every dept except for parts in my carrear. Started at the age of 17. Youngest ever employee to ever be hired. My first job out of high school. It was a Lincoln/ Mercury dealer here in Tampa, Fl. They transfrered me to there Toyota dealer 4 years later, due to the decline of the brand. 13 years almost to the day i went back to the only Lincolon dealer. I spent exactly 1 hr there. I walked around the dealership to see what changed and hasnt changed. I walked back into the service area took off the deakership polo , and walked away. I promised the owner ( R.I.P) that i would retire here at Lincolon store. He took a chance on me. He would wallk around everday and talk to all the employees. He knew all 125 employees. He would shake your hand and say " Thank You" . Much respect. When he died it was a different story. The son would say all the time" when he dies, im selling it all and play golf everyday. Im just subscribed. Im sub 101. Keep up the channel. It will come around. Just take time and consitency. Take care my friend. Love Corvettes at Mecum video. I have a 88 vert. Best car for the buck. Its a sleeper right now. They hit bottom. Now are starting to claim there spot. Buy now while they are still cheap.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I will keep going on this.
The old guys who started these dealerships were a completely different breed. The "CHILDREN" who generally take over (unless the store is sold to "Penske, Power, Auto Nation, etc. a whole different nightmare) are for the most part GIGANTIC FUCK UPS and will destroy a quality dealership in a matter of moments..... all these morons need to do is pull onto the lot and the store goes to shit.
Always wanted a c2 but they've become too collectible and too expensive for me
You and me both. But hey, C4s are inexpensive... ;-)
@@Tomstahler c4's are awesome. I think the aftermarket is lacking for those... a lot of stuff isn't available. I admire anyone who can restore better yet, mod them.
the Rebirth of the ZR1 was a C4... Nuff said.
I just subscribed good content
Thanks a bunch!
Wow, a 15 second car, let me get my neck brace. The smog motor Vette's were real under-performers. It was down hill from 1963.
The later C3s were underpowered. Pretty body, without the ecstasy.
Wouldn't take much to add 100 hp to that car and the aftermarket is plentiful. Surprised at how much people are asking for 200 hp 15 second cars though....
Although l live across the pond and have an "e"type and early TR6 p.i , the split rear window is eqal to the "e" in every way and some models have many more horse's than the 265 of the Jaguar .l guess the only let down was the early models only had drum brakes the Jag' had all round discs from the start. Thanks
Agreed John. It wasn't until Andy Porterfield (nee Porterfield Brakes) mounted his anchors to the C2 that those darn things could stop properly...
Glad you are okay!
Certainly moved me to prayer...
Shelby has outdone everybody with side windows.
and no side windows too...
Eff Mecum and any ahole who even mentions their auctions
I love those early-mid 60s corvettes!
Thanks for watching -- Completely agree. Being a kid in the 70s made me love the C3s as well.
Teslas are the only ev’s worth buying. Much better driving experience than any other car .. gas or electric.
safe to assume you drive a Tesla?
Absolutely brilliant mini-ads. Very clever… and original. I wish you the best of luck!
Many thanks!
Thanks @kellingtonlink956. Keep watching... I'm still clever...😉
The whole EV thing is about helping Chi+a. The Pre z took millions from them. He sold us out.
Considering that Ch*na refines nearly 100% of all the lithium in the world, I would venture to guess you are correct.
Obviously Americans aren't interested in EVs. That's why the Tesla Model Y is the top selling car in the world. What Tom really means is that Americans aren't interested in uncompelling EVs from legacy auto & the Detroit 3. These videos also show how stupid, unethical, corrupt, and dishonest stealerships are everywhere in the world.
Are you suggesting I am unethical? You would be interested to know that the used car auctions such as Mannheim are clogged with Teslas. People buy them because they are the "it" car, but after six months many realize what a terrible mistake they have made. Hybrid is WAAAAY better.
@@Tomstahler If you are a dealer or work in sales at a dealership, then you are trying to take advantage of the consumer in every transaction. Dealerships never disclose how much profit they are making on every sale, and how much each of the dealer add ons truly cost. Dealerships negotiate contracts every day while consumers do not, so they try to take advantage of the unsuspecting public. And if Teslas are dropping in value so quickly, then those used EVs should be tremendous deals to consumers willing to buy and hold. The people complaining about EVs depreciating so quickly don’t understand that EVs will continue to drop in price as batteries & parts & manufacturing methods become less costly over the next decade and beyond. Just like with newer ICE cars there is a tremendous depreciation hit in the first 5 years.
@tomdrewenskus8167 Well, based on the title of the video, I don't work for a "stealership" anymore. Perhaps you should watch my video about what's wrong with car dealers. th-cam.com/video/dS9w9bEaIr8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UTqnUbwy5jKNC7Qp I have never liked car dealers -- and only worked there as they were willing to hire a 56-year-old man for minimum wage and the "promise" of commissions that never materialized. My ethics had to be swallowed each and every day -- it was disgusting.
Subscribed! I knew those were sarcastic videos, and I was wondering how you got away with them. I guess know the answer now. 🤣🤣🤣 Best of luck with your new adventure. You can make a lot of money with a TH-cam channel.
Thanks for the sub!
Good job One Take Tommy!!

th-cam.com/video/dS9w9bEaIr8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UTqnUbwy5jKNC7Qp As you will see, I don't work there anymore. But if you think you can shit that kind of money, you must be the golden goose...
As of two months ago when I stopped by and asked, I was told that Hillbank no longer stock Caterham Sevens.
Hmmm. This was archival footage...
