WWOR... Sigh I miss this. Never thought of Joe's show as a "talk show" It was far more than that.
One of the most idiosyncratic talk show host one of a kind
Joe Franklin and Johnny Carson are probably the two best talk show hosts we have ever had. I miss them both like members of the family.
How I miss Joe and his show. We were friends during his last 10 years or so. He was such a generous, kind and genuine person. The old Times Square where his office was will never be the same without him. A street should be named after him.
Always prepared, knowledgeable, curious and inquisitive was Joe Franklin. Unlike talk show hosts of today, he wasted no time on sarcasm or mockery, and invariably treated his guests with kindness and respect.
Who sings that rendition of moon love?
Vaughn Monroe. A very distinctive voice.
Here you go. th-cam.com/video/ocsheJYnzIU/w-d-xo.html
Loved! Loved! Loved Joe Franklin. Watching his show made me feel like I was a friend who dropped by his house and he had all this wonderful company. I miss that show.
Looking for a Joe Franklin Memory Lane with guest Ben Bagley. Does anyone have this or even know who I could contact..?
R.I.P. to our friend Joe Franklin, Best Always Johnny P & The Lat Night Show
Great Joe Franklin footage, Best Always Johnny P & The Late Night Show.
Joe was a great man! Great knowing you Joe, till we meet again! Best Always Johnny P & The Late Night Show.
A real New Yorker. I remember my brother and I watching it. Living in Bergen County, NJ, before cable. We had plenty of great NYC stations, via antenna.
Even though I was not born IN NYC I,grew up there. When a star whom I admired, I stayed late night to watch it. In 2021 I do not live in the area, I do not know if any TV interview show is like that anymore in the city or America.
@@luislaplume8261 probably not!
WWOR, WPIX and WNEW!
RIP Joe Franklin. You were timeless! I just lost my dear dad suddenly at 84 this month too. A midtown Manhattan retired doctor who practiced over 50 years. A 'double whammy' for me.
RIP Joe.
Sigh, I miss the NY of this time period.
AL LEWIS! RIP, Grampa!
The great Joe Franklin, don't think anyone will beat his record! Best from Late Night with Johnny P Show
Wow, thank you.
Poor man's Johnny Carson? :P
or a regular guy's.
Cognoscenti's Carson is probably more like it.
Sri Chinmoy! RIP, great man.
That singer at the end of the video! Holy Christ.
@tomthefunky yes, my friends...
You're not a real New Yorker unless you've bumped into Joe on eighth avenue at least once.
One of the all time greats.
ya oughtta fix the audio/video being unsynched, other than that it's great
This is memory lane. A wonderful snapshot of the wonderful life of a wonderful person; than you for creating this.
thank you a thousand times - 50 million times! for putting this up on youtube! Awesome!
Mrs. Adler's Gefilte fish!!!!
Wonderful documentary, watched all of it. Joe is a genuine human being and it shows, he's a New York City guy who happened to have a TV show. Too bad the old footage is lost when he interviewed the silent stars like Buster Keaton & the like, I remember the old Memory Lane shows.
Gotta love Joe! This movie is so much fun.
