Hmm so in doing these things we're improving the AI's work of parsing information and regurgitating it to the end user. How does that help the website/blog owner? It's like we are formatting and serving the information for the AI to get better to do what eventually? Unless it's an AI that makes a point to cite sources I don't see how this will be good for us. It's like we are training our all knowing all powerful AI. I realize that this is happening no matter what but I just don't see the point of helping it out. Am I missing something? Lol.. I just hope that these AI services do a better job at crediting their human thought generators, but don't have much hope of that -Most are not doing that now so why would they start. We are each just acting as a cell in this AI brain we are all feeding.

Great video, Matt! I have a question. Per what I am understanding based on this video, I am better off going with interest based targeting if I haven’t had any sales on the item or my Shopify store yet, correct? For example, if I am seeing Father’s Day gift products on my new Shopify store, then it is better for me to go with interest based targeting selecting younger ages with interest like engaged shoppers, online shopping etc. rather going straight to advantage+ or the broad original audience targeting, correct? I would really appreciate your response, thanks!
Test everything of course, but yes without a lot of pixel data or ad account data I would split up individual interests at the ad set level to test them and see what hits. That said, you never know, broad sometimes just magically works!

How do you structure a creative targeting campaign? I've been struggling with understanding the right way to do it from the countless methods being thrown online.
Most people overthink / overtalk it. The algorithm is very good. If your copy and / or video content is super empathetic with a strong hook towards your target audience, you're doing it right. If it helps I use Dynamic Creative a lot to find winners fast.

Great video, how does the Conversion API factor into all of this? Or using both the pixel and API. Seems like the conversion API isn't as accurate as our DB records suggest, wondering if we have the API setup improperly. What is your experience marketing a healthy weight loss app using paid ads?
The conversion API helps but at the end of the day it still can't do much with the issues that cropped up a couple years ago with iOS14, death of cookies, etc. Your best bet for the most accurate data is using something like Hyros but that can get pricey! This is why I generally recommend businesses take the focus off direct ROAS and shift it to ROM or return on marketing so they can concentrate on an integrated marketing strategy.

I want to know why no one clicks on ANY TH-cam videos I post on FACEBOOK, NOT MY VIDEOS, I AM NOT A CONTENT CREATOR! I copy videos that are on TH-cam that I like, ALL KINDS, but no one on Facebook watches or ever even likes them. For years? Impossible odds. Google a question and this is what you get. Google is useless.

Hi Matt, just watched this video based on your recommendation on my comment earlier. I just have 1 question - How many interests should I stack per campaign per Ad set? I sell gift products(family gifting) so I am thinking about creating Adsets with 5 stacked interests. for example, 1 Adset with stacked interests Macy's,Kohls,Nordstrom,JCpenny,Bloomingdale and then 2nd Adset with Online shoipping, Gifts & flowers,engaged shoppers, Facebook paymnt in last 90 days, Mother's day Gifts and so on. Is this a good strategy?

I have a question related to Facebook Ads..I offer a variety of family gifting products, including Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts,gifts for sons, granddaughter,goddaughter,gifts from baby bump, and graduation gifts on my Shopify store. Each gift box contains a necklace and a thoughtful message card, priced between $40 to $90, including shipping. I exclusively sell to customers in the USA. Should I opt for broad targeting or interest targeting? The interests I am thinking to target include Macy’s, Nordstrom, engaged shoppers, online shopping, gifts, and flowers, all relevant to potential gift buyers.
There's no one answer to this but if you've never run ads before in the account I like to start with pocketed interest targeting tests first since those are nice scalable audiences. But eventually You'll want to test Open audiences as well. Go back in my channel and watch the Facebook Ads 101 video I put up about 6 months ago I think it will answer all your questions!

This problem with soul-less copy will probably be fixed "a few months from now" not "a few years from now." It's hard for us to grasp that this technology is improving exponentially, not linearly. The companies that are investing absurd amounts of money in AI have to see an ROI, so they have all the motivation they need to make sure their AI can replace humans ASAP. They want companies to replace workers the same way (and for the same reason) Amazon destroyed local economies by putting mom & pop shops out of business. They're coming for knowledge workers now. Are lawmakers in DC going to protect jobs by regulating AI? I'm not inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. They're too busy running their 3-ring circus.

Yes because the technology is advancing on an exponential scale. How do you predict what direction the next breakthrough will take, then based on it, the next after that? I'd say if businesses are slowing their adaptation of AI because the language it generates is soul-less, there's a huge financial incentive to sway research into solving that particular issue rather than, say, making it a more useful educational tool.
'Human in the loop' rule. Current AI has to be used under human supervision. It doesn't replace people.

Yeah, we are seeing the same results. AI overpromised and underdelivered. You can't write it off as it will eventually get there but it's not happening this year at least

If you’re a store owner, have your key email automations flows in place and on autopilot. Capture leads to nurture and build rapport with. 6:05 Optimize for impulse converters 9:15 LTV > AOV. Increase the LTV by cross selling and upselling through email. When somebody becomes your customer they’re not gone-they’re your hottest customers. 12:29 Care about your customers, treat them like royalty and start selling to them over time ethically and turn them into family.
1:06 Set up flows, audiences, and segments to target different user/customer groups based on their specific behavior. 2:10 A flow is 2-3 or more emails. Should be plastered with social proof and have some sort of expiration linked to it. 2:35 ~70% of e-commerce carts go abandoned. 2:57 Welcome series 3-5 emails is the most important running on your online store. A popup with a discount or giveaway or other opt-in for collecting emails. Otherwise, the only way to get the person’s email to be able to market to them is if they initiate buy in checkout, or complete a purchase. 3:55 Welcome series allows you to capture emails and put them into a sequence. Klaviyo then tracks them based on their store engagement, and allows you to target them based on pages they visited or actions they took on the site. 4:38 Browse abandonment series. Klaviyo knows what pages users visit, to be put into a very specific flow who visited a product page, etc. To serve them better, more relevant email content vs generic welcome series. *Serving the perfect messaging at the perfect time is the golden rule of marketing.* 5:40 Klaviyo smart sending feature prevents redundant double-sending to same groups. 7:15 Win back series. It’s very important to have multiple SKU’s in your store, so you can cross-sell. 8:02 Engagement and reengagement within your Shopify store > CRM; leads to buying behavior. 8:24 Post-purchase series, for people who already bought. You always want to be boosting the LTV (lifetime value) of people who comes into your store, so they spend a lot of money with you over time. *Starbucks doesn’t make any money off the first cup of coffee-they make money off of you when you buy coffee everyday for 10 years, and you’re worth $20k to them over time.* 9:20 Why multiple SKU’s is important. Move into cross-sell so you can sell more products. As ad costs rise, you need to squeeze more and more value out of each and every customer. Every piece of traffic is valuable. 11:33 Klaviyo and Shopify talk to each other seamlessly 11:56 Setting up 5 flows allows you to always be doing something with the users that come to your store-so all the traffic is not in vain. 12:24 Facebook custom audiences are automatically created by Klaviyo to be able to retarget those people. Doesn’t have to be all email subscribers. Can create custom audiences based on specific flows to retarget in the correct way with specific messaging. 13:59 Buying traffic from FB or SEO, don’t lose those people and can move them down the funnel more effectively. 14:26 Klaviyo is much more than an email marketing tool, and acts as a CRM that manage every single potential client including potential customers to serve them the perfect message at the perfect time.
