How American Doorbells are Wired
Today I will show you doorbell wiring as it's done in the US and Canada.
American doorbells use 16 volts AC stepped down from 120V by a transformer.
Wiring used are 5- wire and 2-wire cables with 0.75 mm2 or 1.0 mm2 wires.

British vs American English: Word Differences. Different words used in the UK and the US for things

Continuing with the subject of the differences between British and American English. Different words that we use for the same things - potato chips, vacuum cleaners, etc. Featuring my daughter ("The American kid"). These are children, so please be kind in your comments.
British vs American English pronunciation ("accent"), done by children.
มุมมอง 78K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Brits and Americans are two nations separated by the same language. Today we are comparing the two varieties of pronunciation: English (London area) and American ("standard" American). I realize, this is not a typical video for my channel, but it features my daughter (the "American kid"), so I couldn't help posting it. These are kids, and they have done a pretty good job, so, please, be kind.

    Just picked up a pair of channel lock cutters after losing my kliens on a job site. Very pleased with how well they cut. Not sure why I slept on channel lock so long but I am glad I made this purchase. (I bought of pair of those Milwaukee cutters a while back and I quickly regretted it, I work with coax cable and they had a hard time with the steel messenger for aerial lines.

      @@russiansparky4194 I'm not sure what alloy was available in the 1940s but there are 70+ year old houses with original wiring in pristine condition. Although we need half the current for the same power on 230 V and we didn't have backstabbed outlets and switches like in the US. We also use 3 phase so instead of a 50 A circuit like in the US we use 3x16 A.

    • @russiansparky4194
      @russiansparky4194 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mernokimuvek Hard to talk about this in general, because every house is different, but I think there are two things at play: a better aluminum alloy than the infamous 1350, and unmodified, original wiring. Plus, all the things you mentioned - no backstabbed devices, higher voltage. If you don't overfuse (e.g. install a 32A fuse on 2.5 mm2 aluminum wiring), it will last. Lots of original knob-and-tube wiring is still in use in the US, and it works as long as it hasnt' been modified, added to or overfused.

Europe and other countries use sj cable more like extension cord wire with stranded soft stranded copper so knipex works perfect for that wire . Klein cuts it all , even nails . 20 year electrician no pliers out there like Klein .

    STOP ADVERTISING THIS SHIT!!! How much does that damn Alumikon pay all of you damn electricians? If you do the math, you're all being scammed, if you want to retrofit all the switches and all the outlets in your house, it's only about 500 bucks for the fucking caps. Just pick up a VAGO 222, which costs a couple of cents, put in the same lubricant (a tube costs 5 bucks) and you’re done. no more then $50 bucks for the whole home!!!

    74 01 200 is more like a "wire cutter" instead of a "bolt cutter". The high hardness(64 HRC) combined with sharp edge is not designed for cutting these stuff. Try 71 01 200, it's the proper "bolt cutter" from knipex, it might blow you mind. In my stereotype, US made are "tough", Germanay made are "precise", Japan made are "sharp". I'm almost sure no japanese diagnal cutter can survive your test but they do feel sharp.

How ever your Knipe= little cutter (Knipex, 😉) is a defective one, robots use to sharpen them after induction hardening and they must have been out of calibration regardless what every one tells, I have a tool collection of almost all of most known manufactures and my knipex collection (two at least of every model cutters has zero defection like yours have got, not to mention the hardening seems to be one south side with it???? you really should send it to knipex factory in Germany and ask them to reconsider it. How ever every each of them as you know already, has been designed for different hardened material to be cut, yours indicate piano wire 2.5 mm something to keep in mind. lovely review thanks.

    greetings from Canada, I would say Channelocks cuts small fibers the best, so I use them for smaller gauge cables with strings in them (FA stuff or networking stuff), however, if I am doing distribution, house wiring, or any 14 gauge and up, I have a pair old kleins I bought from Facebook, pretty sure the guy bought it during the 80s and took good care of it lol, it's perfect for 14 AWG up to even 6 awg sometimes, anything after I use cable shear, although, I really don't know why, even my friends brand new top of the line J-man 2000 series induction harden side cutter (lol the marketing name on these tools are ridiculous) just does not cut fiber the way the dam Channellock do? Does anyone know why?

    • @russiansparky4194
      @russiansparky4194 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will tell you what is different about Channellocks: They are sharpened anvil-style, where one jaw is sharp ("hammer"), and the other one is the "anvil" - it's dull, and it is used by the "hammer" jaw to cut the material against. I am not a materials scientist, so I can't tell you why that works better for fiber, but that is definitely what is different about those pliers.
