Well, there are some questionable techniques in the show which I doubt would work in real life but... a skilled enough driver with a well-tuned ae86 could indeed beat someone less skilled driving an Evo V, especially if it's some course where the ae driver is very familiar with, whereas the inexperienced evo driver is being there for the first time.
@@IvanSensei88 isn’t the main guys AE86 stock? Or is it modded? I’m just curious if it would be possible to beat an EVO in a stock car
@@Shit_Bird Hmm not quite. Bunta did initially tune the engine and suspension/etc, but later on Takumi blew it in a race against the Emperor. After that Bunta installed a much more advanced racing engine, so yeah - that trueno is definitely tuned up in the series.
@@Shit_Bird the AE86 isn't stock, Bunta had upgraded it for 10 years for Takumi. It would've lost against Keisuke's 300hp FD in the first episode if it were stock. After Takumi lost to a skilled driver with an Evo 3, Bunta upgraded it even further with the engine of a racing-bred AE101 to give it 230hp, plus it later got a carbon fiber hood and lighter racing seats.
