Thank you for watching it! I do not consider myself an expert narrator and even less so as an aviator, I still feel it was a bummer about the sound. But I'm glad you could find something useful still in the video. As for the airplane I think quite a lot of work went into it. The interior feels somewhat changed, the exterior definitely stepped up, though the oil inspection door on engine II is possibly on the wrong side. The plane also flies a bit different, but that could happen without microsoft altering the plane, as the flight model itself is supposedly different.

You will need at least an xbox controller, but of course used joysticks can start you out just as well if not better. Initially turn all kinds of assists on in the menus and start from there. Do not worry about doing things wrong, it is a sim afterall, no-one will get hurt. There are also a lot of helpful videos on TH-cam both msfs and real world flying ones

ATC told me to drop 5000' a few minutes before calculated TOD, so I started descent in VS. Then I got vectored off the planned route, so from then on VNAV wouldn't even work as far as I know. However when I was told to resume own navigation towards BTV I turned it on

@@dmnflights I myself don’t even know how to ILS or auto land and usually I do 1-5hours flights in a 787 of msfs but in my route planning on main page I just make sure I line my waypoint with runway and when I make my decent and on final just make sure that I’m 100-150feet above airport altitude and line that green line up with my waypoint and try to get it infront of airport on my screen and right now that’s how I’ve been doing it 😂 if that makes any sense that felt like a lot to explain

There are a lot of very informative channels that have either tutorial videos or are simply flying in a way that one can follow. For example "A330 driver" has many tutorial like and full flight videos where he explains what he is doing and why. My channel is more like a diary, I'm far from the level to do such content

@@dmnflights yeah I just for some reason find the FMC process so confusing and the method to my madness so far has worked also I subbed so maybe see some more wild landings in near future!

I get what you mean, the FMC in airliners aren't my favorite thing either, I find the Garmin systems, even the G1000, a lot easier to handle. If you feel like it could be of use, I have a few 787 videos on my channel. Thanks for the sub, I can promise to share landings with plenty of errors to learn from :D I mostly do full flights, but all of them end in a landing, most of them far from good, though all meet the criteria "if you can walk away from it, it qualifies as a landing"

@@dmnflights I think he is referring to the fact that your approach speed was way too high (if you turn on the V speeds, it will show you the proper pseed on the PFD) and you floated across half the runway.

No denying any of that, both are true. I find it really hard to judge my altitude just before landing. Never had that problem IRL, though I got to admit I only have glider experience outside of the sim.

@@dmnflights you touched down almost halfway down the runway, and you were not on centerline.....and use the autopilot to fly approach.

I would help if I could, but I never had this problem. My best bet would be some kind of addon problem, but that's just a guess.

I only have Navigraph as an addon. I'm testing the fsltl model matching function for vatsim, but that was not active when I recorded this video.

It felt like a very smooth landing indeed. I was quite surprised when I saw afterwards that Volanta recorded almost 260fpm on touchdown.

Looking forward to it. I did fly a tour around Africa in MSFS and I loved flying over the desert areas. I thought it will be the most boring part yet turned out quite the eye candy with all the various shades of brown, like a huge pancake… I'm really interested to see in you video has it looks in real life.

I'm afraid that is the best I can squeeze out from my current configuration with no upgrade in sight. Of course how it could be improved, I just don't have the funds to do it

I wish I knew, it did so quite violently, I had to apply a lot of left rudder to hold the plane on the runway. It was pretty weird and scary.

First of all thank you for the feedback, I really Appreciate it! My home cockpit is very basic, a joystick, a throttle and recently I bought a second monitor, so I can have vPilot client, checklists offscreen from the recording. I use the mouse quite a lot, there are only a very few things mapped to hotkeys. I noticed too that the mouse appears quite rarely and even if it does, it's at a wrong plance on the screen. I suspect that it is somehow the doing of the nVidia recording software I use to capture the video. I've seen on youtube that there are external touchscreens mimicing the GTC's of the G3000/G5000. It would be awesome to fly using one of those. Do you have one? I'm from Hungary, hence the HA at the beginning of the registration number.

@@dmnflights no, I don´t own one. But I am planning to buy one to use the G3000 and GTN750 on an external touchscreen. Must be fun.

I'd expect they do. Even the HondaJet is about 5 tons when fully fueled, I don't think it is moved around by hand.

It is indeed a really fine aircraft. It has unmatched view for the pilot and the G3000 is really well done. The only thing I was wishing it had for landings is a speedbrake.

I do, actually sometimes I feel I use too many of those.. I plan my flight initially in simbrief, finish them up in littlenavmap and track them in volanta. Oh and there is also navigraph included as well 😅

Guilty as charged :) I really had the time to take a look at the airport chart and look for the GA apron, but all I was worried about whether I get the day or the night approach. But even this proves how awesome most vatsim controllers are, I've never had any of them lose patience with me. They got my most sincere respect.

It's under the Aircraft systems menu. There is a sim options button inside, which has the "open door" button. The engines have to be down in order for it to work.

Let's organize a Hondajet group flight next time.

I'm afraid I cannot answer that question. I have only ever seen the virtual one, so I have no information about how it is different from the real. The only inoperable functions I met so far were the "emergency gear release" lever and I think the knobs around the oxygen mask do not work either.
