PARKRUN REVIEW: Endcliffe Parkrun - Event 643
Hello from Sheffield and my first ever Parkrun here!
I loved this event. Such a scenic park and we were greeted with wonderful conditions.
I'd recommend this to everyone. My video is a bit longer this week because I am still running slowly, so please forgive me. I am working hard to fix my hip, slowly but surely.

PARKRUN REVIEW: Wetherby Parkrun - Event #372
มุมมอง 559วันที่ผ่านมา
Hello from Wetherby parkrun! Many know this location for its service station, but little is known about Wetherby town. What a treat we have here. Storm Darragh had parkruns dropping all over the country, it was great that Wetherby decided on Friday night that they'd be going ahead regardless! Well done to the volunteers today, absolute troopers! Hope you enjoy it! If you want further details fr...
PARKRUN REVIEW: Marshall Drive Pakrun - Event #228
มุมมอง 28814 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hello from my NENDY and my last parkrun in the north east! Marshall Drive has been a run I've been trying to save for the end of this year, and it didn't disappoint. The weather, runners, and volunteers today made this place incredibly welcoming and I enjoyed my run around here despite my dodgy hip. The hill and downhill make this place a pleasant little challenge and something you can push you...
PARKRUN REVIEW: Hartlepool Parkrun - Event #480
มุมมอง 38421 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hello from Hartlepool parkrun! Usually one of the quickest parkruns in the country with only the wind to worry about when deciding to go for a PB or not! But Storm Bert and the Arctic front had other ideas this weekend. With parkruns dropping all over the country, it was great that Hartlepool could go ahead with its slightly warmer air temperatures. The sleet and snow whacking us in the face on...
PARKRUN REVIEW: Bramley Parkrun - Event #392
มุมมอง 377หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello from Bramley in Leeds! First thing first, I'm sorry for the footage while running. My camera was in the wrong setting, and I couldn't fix the sideways movement. It won't happen again, and it's pretty rubbish footage-my bad. Otherwise, the conditions, park, volunteers, and cafe were lovely today and I hope my video is still just as informative as usual. If you want further details from the...

Hello from the lovely town of Goole! I wanted to get my Namely challenge ticked off this week, and what place to do it! There's a very supportive group of volunteers here, and a quick course is waiting for you. It definitely has PB potential while the ground is still firm. Let me know how you get on when you visit. Ingleby Incline - The TOUGHEST climb in the North East!
มุมมอง 370หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello from North Yorkshire and one of my favourite running routes. I've always wanted to show off the incline and what better way to do it than make my very own video about it. This hill is often spoke about in hushed tones, simply running to the top is considered an achievement in itself. The record times are averaging 10min/mile pace.. easy right? Please give it a go and let me know how you g...
PARKRUN REVIEW: Fell Foot Parkrun - Event #428
มุมมอง 470หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello from a stunning day in The Lake District! One week after Fell Foot's 10-year birthday I am delighted to have had such lovely conditions to run in, this might have even been the best I've ever seen The Lakes looking. Someone wrote on the 5k app, "If you do one parkrun as a tourist, it has to be Fell Foot parkrun', and it's hard to disagree with this. I hope you enjoy this one, I think it m...

Hello from the lovely Cross Flatts parkrun! What a lovely event, so many people were celebrating milestones today and it was lovely to say hello to a few people who've seen the videos too! Hello and good morning from Ashington! I'm not too well this week (not sure if I mentioned that in the video, haha) and I also ran a marathon last week. Happy 20th Birthday to Parkrun!! What an incredible set up we all have to look forward to every Saturday morning. And I couldn't think of a better place to spend my day. PARKRUN REVIEW: Torvean (Inverness) Parkrun - Event #158
มุมมอง 2212 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello from Inverness and Torvean Parkrun! This weekend, there were over double the average number of runners because it was the Baxter's 10K and marathon. The volunteers handled it effortlessly. What a spot for a run as well! It's so easy to spectate, and the frisbee golf would be another reason to pop along to this location, too! PARKRUN REVIEW: Windy Nook Parkrun - Event #273
มุมมอง 4082 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello from Windy Nook! This Parkrun is the epitome of the Parkrun community spirit, the average numbers are low at around 35 runners a week. The figures used to be much higher pre-covid but haven't recovered yet. The volunteers are usually the same people week in and week out and it's really appreciated to see their hard work! I think the hilly course puts a few people off, but you're almost gu...

Thank you very much for visiting us here at Endcliffe Parkrun, as a volunteer at this parkrun, it was a pleasure having you come and we look forward to welcoming you back again next time you come over, I was the next scanner along when you scanned your barcode, and also please consider volunteering at some point, as these runs cannot go ahead without the required amount of volunteers.
Welcome to my local ParkRun! Thank you for a great video, I love the hyperlapse of the route; and the Sausage sandwiches review as a bonus - great local cafe I recommend you try the breakfast wrap next time you visit super filling after a PB!
I enjoyed this one back in the summer. Tight around the tree though
Thank you for visiting!
Hi mate sorry that the hip is still painful I hope it's better soon. Penistone Parkrun, my local one cancelled on Friday night and come Saturday morning there was zero wind! Honestly madness! Anyway I went to Hillsborough and enjoyed it, love the video. Nice flat course that one, I might venture up on summer morning for that! Keep up the good work 👍🏼
Fingers crossed it’ll be in the mend soon, I doing think I’ll be doing any real running for the rest of the year! How was Hillsborough? I was tempted to head there this weekend
@EndorphinEmpire Hillsborough is a great parkrun but not the same since the legendary RD John left. Still a great run though. Nice work at Endcliffe I've been to the park but never done that parkrun so it's on my list. I've got 4 left to do in South Yorkshire.
Good review. Hope the hip gets better soon, tbh such a soft surface is probably ideal for you atm.
Cheers Garth! I completely agree, flat soft ground is ideal! I don’t think I should be running at all really 😂
So pleased you beat both Storm Darragh and your hip was just about ok! Great effort too by so many volunteers keeping parkruns going in recent difficult weather conditions. Thanks for another great review!
Thanks Andy!! Glad you enjoyed it. Loved that the volunteers were brave enough to get out there and keep the parkrun going. Some flat, soft ground was nice on the hip too
Sympathies with being injured and best wishes for a swift recovery! Your parkrun reviews are such a great watch, especially when I've been unable to run from injury myself - need you to be fit again and keep them coming.
Sorry to hear you're injured mate, wishing you a speedy recovery.
Cheers Rich! I’m sure I’ll be back out and running again soon enough
Hi mate I hope your hip is fixed soon. Running with pain is not good. You've introduced me to another lovely off the beaten track parkrun. So few runners - heaven!! 😉 Take it easy
Cheers Simon! As always with an injury the mental battle is half the struggle. Glad to have helped you find another parkrun ☺️
One of my favourite ones that I’ve done, well worth the trip! Hope the hip gets better soon
Cheers Paul! The hip will be fine soon I hope. Looking forward to doing this one in full fitness
Well done for getting out to one. All my local ones except Rotherham were called off ... not that I could make it as the snow was bad on Saturday morning where I live. Imagine when you get on to review the Australian parkruns in glorious sunshine and beautiful beaches....
Haha cheers Simon! It was brutal last weekend, I’m glad a lot of the coastal ones were fine with it being slightly warmer, but it was definitely treacherous to get to! Haha tell me about it 😂 I do have an exotic parkrun lined up for the end of January.. 👀
Well... at least the cafe had seen your previous video and provided a carrot cake. Perhaps the cake had been waiting all this time for you to return? 🤷♀
Haha exactly! I think I should start forewarning the cafe I’m coming 👀😂
Well done getting out in it. One of the windiest mornings of the season and goes to a coastal parkrun lol shame the carrot cake weren’t up to much for ya
It was pretty brutal out there! So much better this weekend haha. A coastal parkrun had to be done 😂 had to get the full experience
That's on my to do list but perhaps when the weather is a little kinder. Great effort to go out in that. Our local was off so we stayed in bed and quite glad I did 😂
Haha it’s a rapid run. It’s a toss up between here and Albert park for the quickest in the North East I’d say. Glad you got the chance to stay in bed though 😂😂
Congratulations on 100 Parkruns its an incredible achievement
Thank you very much! Here’s to the next 100 🍻
Nice mate , love the hyperlapse of the course section
Cheers James! The hyper lapse is so much better than listening to me run around breathing heavily! Annoyingly the hyperlapse wasn’t great in this week’s video as I had the wrong setting 🙃
Great vid! Looked like there was a weather change halfway through, classic England 😄Well done for completing the Namely Challenge!
Thank you! Yeah that footage during the second half is a bit rubbish with all the raindrops isn’t it 😂 thank you though!
@@EndorphinEmpire No its not too bad, can still see what's going on! Nothing you can do about the weather, I know the pain 😆
Been waiting for this video. Been a subscriber for a couple of months and I saw you on Saturday at the start line and then again when you passed me as you was about to finish, I said “well done mate” I think. Great run and great video mate
I do enjoy it when something like this happens 😊 I do remember someone saying “well done”, I did say it back so I hope you heard. Is that your local parkrun, Callum?
@ sorry I’ve only just seen this! I did hear it back, thank you! It’s not, no. My local is either Sandall Park or Cusworth Hall, I’m somewhat between the two in Doncaster. It was my first time there to complete my tourist streak
Great review and awesome nu toons!
Thanks Andy! After a year it’s maybe a good idea to spruce things up a little haha
Pontefract for me
How was Pontefract?? Hopefully you didn’t fall in the lake
@EndorphinEmpire hi bud I got 22:22 my second fastest time ever. In truth I wanted to go sub 22 and was a bit annoyed I didn't manage it. I'm going to Rother Valley this Saturday to see if I can manage it there! How was your visit to Goole?
Hi bud you are getting around now! Where are you parkrunning tomorrow?
Haha thanks Simon! Think I might be heading to Goole tomorrow, what about yourself?
You can also park at bankfoot farm (free parking) and get to the incline from there (about 3km?) It brings u to the incline from the opposite way you did so you come from kildale/ captain cooks direction. I've never yet even managed to run a quarter of the way up without stopping yet. Got my time from 30 min down to 17 min though so I'm getting there
This is good to know! I’ve only ever ran the route from Clay Bank car park and it’s around a 12km loop. A quarter is still impressive! I think getting to the gate is by far one of the biggest mental hurdles. After that it’s pure grit and determination haha
@EndorphinEmpire it's just shy of 10k if you park at bankfoot and turn left at the top rather than right 👍
I did this last month. Hills made it much tougher. Lovely friendly PR though. It’s always interesting to see which one you choose each week. I have 40 left to get my cowell and then I’m returning to Albert park. I sort of wish I came up with a challenge that didn’t rob me of my entire Saturday mornings for the past year. Keep up the good work I do enjoy the content! 👏
The hills are pretty rough aren’t they?! I honestly have zero idea where I’ll end up each week, but it’s getting harder and harder to get to one in a reasonable amount of time 😂 I think we both understand how this feels by this point! I think I’ve got 21 until my Cowell, so both of us will have it done next year. Where are you heading this weekend?
@ 😂 I’m the same usually leave it till Friday night to narrow it down. I can often change my mind on sat morning. I have only chopwell wood,Tyne green to complete south of Tyne and 3 left north of the Tyne. Then I have two left in North Yorkshire skipton and selby. So tomorrow I’ll head to West Yorkshire as I’ve been making my way through PR’s in Bradford and Leeds. If you want inspiration / a mission have a look at Paul Freyne 700+ events. That’s decades commitment of tourism 😂 Enjoy tomorrow! 🏃🏻♂️
Great vid as always Grant. It's a lovely parkrun.
Thanks Andy! It’s a stunner
Good video - I was there too but never saw you.
Thank you ☺️ That’s a shame, usually my hi-vis top and camera means I look ridiculously out of place haha
Nice vid thanx Grant. #onepizzawontmakeyoufat 🙂
Haha thank you again! Need to start working on this hash tag don’t I
So nice to meet you yesterday at PotterNewton Parkrun (From the table of 6 sat next to you in the café) !! Well done on a super quick time and hopefully see you at another parkrun soon!
Lovely meeting you too! I’m always surprised to meet people who’ve seen my videos, so it’s great to meet all 6 of you who have given them a watch! And like you said, hopefully see you around soon!
That Marshall in the top corner is my favourite Marshall I’ve seen at a Parkrun! He had the tunes blasting out when we went, happy to see he’s still rocking out!
I'll add that to the list, looks lovely
100%
What a fantastic route. Not a fan of hills but i really fancy doing this. Thanks for the video Grant, once again truly inspiring 🙏
Definitely worth a shot doing this! It's a tough hill but a really fun little challenge.
Thanks for the inspiration, I think that I'll run/walk this sometime soon.
Let me know how you get on! I love this route.
Imagine doing a Jo Pavey hill session with Paul on that 🙈😂
Hahaha i couldn't think of anything worse
Enjoyed the content. Came as a surprise as this would be good up your sleeve if, heaven forbid, no parkrun video was possible. A familiar format to the video and music to the run section was good. It felt chilled with the history lesson too! Important for a channel to have a core, but it is an endorphin empire so worth the channel pushing out to different runs and walks - especially as the views and weather are encouraging!
Thanks Jason!! I’ve made a self imposed rule not to tinker too much until I get to 100 videos. The process is getting much quicker and easier now which is good! I’m still clueless though. Eventually a new parkrun every Saturday won’t be feasible, so I have to start branching out a bit! Glad you enjoyed my history lesson too. Appreciate your comment as well.
Thanks for another great review - Fell Foot is the home parkrun of the author of "p is for parkrun", a book that captures the joy of parkrun (as do you!) Really worth a read!
Thanks again, Andy! I’ve seen her book around and about I’m sure! 🤔 That’s good to know it where she’s located, not hard to fall in love with parkrun when that’s your home location. I’ll have to get myself a copy
Thanks for sharing, but you seemed to have missed the most vital part . . . .where you actually start from
Ahh I’m sorry! This was early days in the video making days, I definitely want to redo this one. You start right in the middle of the park near the animals and the children’s play park.
Great video and commentary but you missed the best bit of Fell Foot Patkrun - the dip in Windermere afterwards! Hope you'll be back to experience that 😊
I did want to do this 😂 not sure how people would feel about me filming around there though! I’ll have to give it a go next time
Well done Grant! Weather didn't look great, looked like a nice course though. Great review 👍
Cheers Eliot! I can see you’re very much back into the swing of things now. Hope the recovery form injury is going okay 👌
@@EndorphinEmpire Thanks, yeah recovery is on the up at the moment so lets hope it stays like that! Got a video coming out today explaining the injuries I've had over the past year 👍
Thinking about doing this one when I visit Pisa, then I heard you were from Boro too, I couldn’t believe it
Love these regular Parkrun videos - always informative and entertaining! Keep up the great work!
Thanks Stuart! Means a lot. I’m really enjoying making them too. 😊
Great video and review - where did you get your barcode t-shirt from? Looks good
Thank you! The T-shirt is from a company called Sprinters Printers in Middlesbrough. He’s a runner and has made a fair few parkrun barcode T-shirts so he’s worth checking out :)
Those cameras on the sticks... I got the impression that someone overtook you just after the finish line to stole your token 🤣 But then I noticed the t-shirt...
Haha they can be very deceptive! 😂 and yeah you can’t miss the y-shirts always a bit of a giveaway haha
Excellent! I really liked Cross Flatts a few weeks ago. So convenient to park, friendly, and the 'Travelator' mini-hill really makes you dig in. Is that now all Leeds parkruns bar Middleton & Bramley? Tip for Bramley, I noticed a house on Broad Lane not far from the pedestrian entrance (good for parking too) that had a sign up selling cakes on a Saturday morning. Can't remember if there was carrot cake.
Fat Pigeon Bakery is incredible (I'm assuming that's the house you've seen!)
@@petewise9089 Yes, that's the one!
Thanks both!! I still have a couple to tick off in Leeds. This is great advice for Bramley, I’m all for cake (even if it isn’t carrot cake 😉) so I’ll have to give that a shot! Thanks again!
Glad you're feeling better matey. I love this parkrun, in the right conditions its quite a nippy little course. Great review as always 👏
Thanks mate! Like you said, it can be nippy around here. Great work recovering from injury so quickly by the way 👌
Great review for one of my nephew's local parkruns - he loved this one, and a lot quieter than Woodhouse Moor!
Exactly! So much nicer and quieter than Woodhouse, a lot less congestions and people to dodge 👌
Great vid Grant, think everyone is ill at the moment. I'm definitely under the weather. Looked like a lovely parkrun, definitely getting colder up North by the looks of it. Still not too bad down South, different climate ;). Well done on completing the Chester Marathon too! 😄
Thanks a lot Eliot! I’m definitely feeling a lot better this week. I’ve seen you’re also a bit unwell, but great work on the sub-25 still yesterday!!
@@EndorphinEmpire Great to hear! Yeah I had a week of cold but I am on the up now too which is good. Thanks! slowly chipping away to get my fitness back to where it was 😄
Another good review, thanks for the dedication. I ate one pizza at the weekend, and ran one parkrun (that I was made aware of via your videos). Well done on your marathon.
Thanks Jason! Glad my pizza/ parkrun advice is starting to take hold 😂 thanks a spit the marathon, I’m slowly starting to feel human again!
Great to see you and thanks for visiting us ❤
Thanks, Peter! Was lovely to get myself up to you. I’ll be back when I’m feeling better too :)
Another great run review... and just a week after a marathon! I don't know how you do it - but so grateful you do - and hope you are fully recovered soon. Ashington gets a new national rail service from Newcastle soon (now expected mid-December 2024) ... with any luck there will be a train early enough for parkrunners.
I have no idea how I managed last week either Andy 😂 I felt so unwell haha. But thanks you, I am feeling a lot better now :) That’s really good news about the train service! Hopefully it helps boost the numbers a little bit.
Well done you did amazing I was at Marshall point 4
Oooo thank you so much!! What a lovely venue and such perfect weather we had last weekend. I’ll definitely be back when I’m feeling better next week :)
Hope you feel better soon mate. I enjoyed that course but you're right, the inclines just sneak up on you!
Thanks Rich, I’m feeling loads better this week! I was meant to be racing today, but still not 100%! The inclines are sneaky aren’t they 😅
