    Slower panoramic panning please. You get beautiful shots, and then spool them up into a vertigo inducing pirouette. Great stuff all the same.

    Thanks for taking us along Grant. I plan on hiking this area soon, so it’s good to get a feel for what to expect! Definitely know how the self doubt affects a solo hiker; experienced that many a time! I hope 2024 has started of a better one for you.

      Thanks! We contacted the Tasmanian Museum when we got back to Hobart & they were great. Turns out it was an Australian Fur Seal.

    Antarctic beech doesn’t exist in Tasmania. What you were looking at was Nothofagus cunninghamii (myrtle beech) which is found in cool temperate rainforests and mixed forests in Tasmania.

      Good call, I’m from NSW where the beech are the Antarctic, mainly in Barrington Tops & New England NPs where I’ve done quite a bit of walking over the years.
