One of the reasons I think why deck classification in YGO is so different from other TCGs is because from its inception YGO design doesnt give two shit about convetional card game design (no mana system, no mulligan, no set rotation, etc) which lead to common TCG concepts just doesnt fit well with the game sometimes. Great video btw. Competently put together, well edited and well articulated.
Right, yeah, the answer to the question might very well be "a lot of unconventional (some might argue terrible, but I don't necessarily think that) game design decisions." Competent is. a word that I'll accept, but it's still a long shot until being "well". Thank you for the kind words regardless!
