Interesting design. Whenever there are "gaps", good planning is key. Thank you for taking the time to explain your methodology.

I tried rectreating this design in Illustrator with a different method. No matter which method, there is no way to directly obtain this figure without serious massaging of the elements.

For anyone watching this and thinking why it can't be done with the data entry tool or power entry tool, etc, it's because the rotation angle doesn't change an equal amount if you have the attachment points set equidistant like in this design. You can get a *similar* result by creating an equilateral triangle and using data entry to make 16 rotating copies and cleaning up the lines you don't want, but then the attachment points aren't equidistant. There's no way that I can see to create a design like this without going in and doing it by hand, that I can see.

This is a great tutorial. One thing I've been doing is looking at the end results of small tutorials like this and doing my best to replicate it before watching. In this case I was stumped, I hadn't put together that you could rotate the symbol and the when moving the components they would move in relation to the symbol. Made the design SUPER east and will be a very useful tool in geometric designs in the future. Thank you.
