Hello my name is Maria and this is my first video. I am a candle maker and such a big fan of everything Diy .
And today I would like to share with you how you can make pillar candles with concrete bases with stones inside. They will make your home feel cozy in Christmas time.
So let’s start!
You need to prepare paraffin wax, concrete, water, pitcher for wax, wicks for pillar candles, any moulds, I prefer to use empty jars from pringls. Also you need some oil and glue. And you need stones.
Mix your concrete with the water , mix it very well. concrete should not be too thin. Take your mold. Put a little bit of oil on walls inside. After that start to put concrete inside. Don’t rush, add your stones and again concrete. Ready.
Now you need to leave it to dry. I normally Leave it for overnight. When it’s dry you can stick your wick inside.
You need a double boiler to melt the wax. After The wax is ready you should pour it Into molds.
Leave it for a few hours and take it out. Cut your wicks. Now my favorite part!
Let’s decorate it. I like to use acrylic paints , Gold leaf and glitter.

Supern thanks for sharing! Just a question, what did you use in the little bottle when the concrete is dry just before you pour the wax please? Is it glue?

Hi...I tried it but the wax didn't stick on the concrete, can I know why this is happened?
Hey. Sorry for late reply! Yes it can happen sometimes! I would recommend to try another wax! And also make sure the concrete is completely dried and clean. You can clean concrete a little bit after is dry.

Amazing candles! I have some questions about them, I would really apreciate if you could answer some of them. Do you use normal concrete or a fast one? We used the fast one and some cracks appreared after a while, also if you use the normal one, do you add any thing else to it beside water? Also, I've read that you use Soy Wax, it it pillar soy wax or container wax? And last thing, we have been using PVC molds, but the soy pillar wax we've usted got stuck in some areas at the mold unfortunately, so do you use anything specific to avoid the wax getting stuck to the mold? Thank you very much.!
Hello Mandonga! I use normal cement with sand and water. You can find information how to mix cement and sand with water on the bag with cement. Also you can put oils around inside of your mold. I use pillar soy wax. Normal soy wax didn’t work for me ❤
They look lovely. The only thing I would suggest is use sand paper to smooth out the concrete before painting.
