Water Level Indicator: Part 2 | Bluetooth Wireless Indicator |
Sorry for the delay in posting.
As done in the previous video of the measurement using ultrasonic sensor. This time we made a step forward using bluetooth wireless module to transmit the information wireless across a distance.
The main aim is to install one part of the device at one site and get the information after a certain distance to demonstrate the capability.
Detailed coding for both methods is being done in Arduino Uno. The water level is shown on 16x2 LED/LCD display.
In the upcoming video, we made a step forward towards an Android based blynk application to get all the details on your mobile. Isn't that cool?

Water Level Indicator | Ultrasonic Sensor | Will it sense accurately?
มุมมอง 26K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This is the water level indicator which uses two measurement methods: 1. Using simple multiple wires 2. Using ultrasonic Sensor The first method has some certain disadvantages which led to another measurement method that is the ultrasonic sensor. Detailed coding for both methods is being done in Arduino Uno. The water level is shown on 16x2 LED/LCD display. In the upcoming video, a Bluetooth de...

      Hi, in the code present in the blog, when you run this in arduino, the serial monitor prompts you for the depth of the tank to be given as input. You could also hard code the variable "depth" in the code according to your measurements.

      Within the code provided in the pinned comment, we convert the ultrasonic data from remaining cm level of water in tank to percentage. You can use it to get the value.

    Can I have a question? I just studied this because of curiosity, why do we need a master and a slave bt? Thanks I found your videos informative keep up the good work!

      Hi. Actually, the setup of measuring water could be at a certain height. This might be problematic for wired connection. So, we setup the bluetooth technology where a tank at a height would provide the information to the receiver bluetooth(slave) for display and control purpose at the human interface side. Thank you for supporting us. :)

    Is ping vs distance graph constant for all? Planning to Install it in a 1000L Tank and I'll just compute the ping vs distance using your equation

    • @rlcprolabs2862
      @rlcprolabs2862 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. For our testing purpose, we used a 25L water bucket in which results were satisfactory in steady-state conditions. The equations were able to correctly reflect the distance. Do install and test it out in larger system, the larger scale should also work. Only thing to consider is that, commonly available ultrasonic sensor gives correct readings upto 2m or so.

      Is it possible to do it with 1 BT module sending the value of depth from mobile?

    • @rlcprolabs2862
      @rlcprolabs2862 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ssaahil Yes we can work with just 1 bluetooth module also. But the issue is Depth sensing module would be at a height at terrace and LCD for visual would be inside the house. That is why we needed two bluetooth module. If you don't want to use the visual part. You can remove the 2nd Bluetooth module and directly connect with BT module at terrace with app.

      @rlcprolabs2862 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Roopesh. I was not able to understand the question. What separate probe is it? We mounted ultrasonic sensor directly on the top of bucket lid and from there we calculated the time it takes to travel to and fro. Is that what you wanted to ask? sensor reading showing 37 then goes down to 32, irregular value. How to avoid this, possible to put delay?

    • @rlcprolabs2862
      @rlcprolabs2862 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Monish. Yes, during transients such as disturbance in water when adding causes the distance between ultrasonic sensor and water level change abruptly. Possible solution as you said could be introducing delay or provide an averaging solution when in transient. During steady state, it was providing with fairly good values.
