My son decided he wanted to move his dad when he turned 16. I didnt guilt trip him, i only asked if he was certain cuz there would b no reversal (spoiler alert he tried to come back after 6 mons, but i said what i said). Dad owed $20k in back support. I turned over custody after a 6mons legal battle over what shouldve been an amicable agreement as i agreed to waive his back child support as long as he would NOT file on me. That was always the agreement but he wanted to get all sprinkle sprinkle about it b4 signing 🙄. Anyway 6 mons in litigation align with the 6mons b4 my son wanted to return home. . . I feel like that tells plenty right there. I say this to say, i remind my son even now (2-3yrs later) u r in a unique opportunity not all children get to witness. Youve seen both of ur parents as the "non-custodial". The truth will always reveal itself. Although i turned over custody i dis not relinquish my rights nor deny parental responsibilities concerning my son! It broke my heart when he expressed his wishes but ultimately we r better for it today 🙏🏾❤️🙌🏾
