Nothing better than a mid week paddle in slicy boats...
Spicy Gironde @0.5 June 2024
มุมมอง 4693 หลายเดือนก่อน
The level was 20% higher than the last time we did it (the day before). Definitely spicy. Some nice big holes. One of our team mates lost a boat, which has been recovered later from the lower parts of the Durance. We were actually really lucky as the next day the flood hit and the Durance reached magnificient 460 cumecs and the place the boat ended up was completely washed out and the campsite ...
Lower Claree on superb level

Everything else was flooded at that time so Lower Claree was a reasonable choice.

A trib to the Guil. Classed as grade 3 /4. It's a great river...just one long rapid. #whitewater #kayaking #France# #Gorge #gopro #kajak #whitewaterkayak #rapids #extremesports #gopro #gopro11 #wodospad #extreme #HautesAlps #bouchet

One of my favourite G3s: Afon Dwyfor @0.62 (medium)
มุมมอง 4859 หลายเดือนก่อน
Two laps on the Afon Dwyfor on the medium level. After we did the 1st one I decided to use my full slice, and it was one of the best decisions. That river offers so much. There is very little flat sections, so normally its rapids after rapids. Plenty of boofs. #whitewater #kayaking #Wales #Gorge #gopro #kajak #whitewaterkayak #rapids #extremesports #gopro #gopro11 #wodospad #extreme #Dwyfor #Af...
3 laps on the Aberglaslyn gorge (Water:Low) [Go Pro 7] [Jackson Levator]

First time on the Glaslyn gorge (on low level). We did 3 laps and it was pretty bony in places. What a gem of a river/section it is. #whitewater #kayaking #Wales #Gorge #gopro #kajak #whitewaterkayak #rapids #extremesports #gopro #gopro11 #wodospad #extreme #Aberglaslyn

Great vid Tom. Tawe Moors added to the list.........
Did you run it too?
always a great section of river 🔥
Epic video 👍🏼
it was around 1.3 Which is upper scale of low level. Definitely on the 'Green Tick'
Nice! Do you remember what level it was on?
How does CIWW compare to HPP and the two courses at LV?
CIWW is the easiest course but really good and nice if you take a swim. HPP is way harder, lots of boils, massive holes and it sucks if you take a swim but is way better if you want to improve technique. I can't say anything about Lee Valley as never paddled there.
put in?
Below Onde barrage
Show de Rio !!!
That looks really fun
Initially I thought it gonna be a pretty dull run, but in fact it exceeded my expactations. It was definitely fun
Good job 😍
which place is that?
River Findhorn from below Randolph's Leap
Are you swimming on Toro?
No mate. Im paddling Zet Raptor...but planning to upgrade my creeker this year.
Loved that section in 1990 , very relaxing after doing the gry
Still a good warm-up for the lower section.
Awesome run ❤
Really enjoyed! Great editing using the group footage.
Great
Skaisti. Kas tā par upi?
Dwyfor. In North Wales.
Sounded a bit scrapy in places
You're completely right. It was scrapy in places.
@@tompillar86 I need to do the gorge. I’ve run the river but got out before the gorge.
@@stuartreedsadventures I really recommend doing that. It's such fun. Of course level dependent, but even on low was so much fun.
looking smooth there Tom
Cheers Paul.
Most helpful video I have seen of this section.. need to go do it soon.
Thanks man. Glad you liked it and glad its useful to someone.
the way you handled 0.45 - it looked like you were the leader/guide
Some of the parts I was leading on, the others were lead by Samir. I was the only person that did the river before but it was on high so it was completely different river.
Enjoyed the vid thank you. Maybe put the music at a lower level, so we can hear what's going on better... plus I'm not sure it's necessary. Anyway, great vid, reminds me of good times, and makes me want to get on the river again! Inspiring.
The only reason of me putting the music is I dont like hearing myself talking. I will try next time to shut up and dont spoil the sound. Thanks for the input though.
nice :)
Looks like a super river Tom ❤
It's one of the classic G3 in the area in my opinion. So much fun, especially when mixed with Eden.
Great video Tom. Thanks again for amazing time on the river. I hope we will do it again soon. 👌💪🏼👍
Hopefully soon mate!
That big!
a high usk is a always a good (and fast) bouncy trip.
I actually never done that river on anything but low, so it was pretty exciting to do that on that level.
@@tompillar86 , its even more exciting in a small ripper1 🙂. One of Owens videos shows it on a 2.4 th-cam.com/video/swohcjeTQuM/w-d-xo.html
Looks amazing, UK river guide paints it as a polluted death trap, but looks like a fun solid G4 if you have the levels. I hope to get on it with a group soon.
It's a beautiful river, as there is so many different things, but there is s couple of dangerous bits, especially the rapid with undercut, narrow guttering like slide which is very shallow (on of our guys attacked a rock wall with his face) and there is a boxed-in nasty weir which looks like suicide apart from one place where you can shoot it. I'd recommend doing it first on low level as we did some portages and it was only on medium
Beautiful creek. Totally my style. Big water is fun but I love micro creeking!
It is beautiful indeed. Different paddling style, more rock bashing, and some rapids don't really require much paddling skills, whereas the others do.
Great edit Tom nice sound to. Beautiful gorge very narrow. Good padding guys 💪🏼
Thanks man. It is beautiful indeed. A very memorable day.
Great roll in that wave
Great vlog but would prefer natyral sounds and not the music 👍
Natural sounds
great roll at the beginning - looked like a great event
Thanks Paul! I was pretty chuffed with that
What a fun river. Looks like it's a Class 3, and way fun. Nothing scary, and no "death traps". Reminds me of the Natchees River in Washington, State, USA. Or the Wenatchee at 5000 cfs.
Thats a gnarly line xD
Next year I’m with you. If you let me go 😜
Great paddling Tom 😊
Piękna rzeka super filmik Ta perspektywa kamery jest najlepsza. Brawo Tom !
Dzieki Bartas. no rzeka piekna jest. perespektywa tez dobra ale zaslania to co jest przede mna i niektore rzeczy widac lepiej z kamery na kasku
The first time I paddled this, there were no stones visible, only waves, about 70 cm more water, it was fast and fun.
I want to do this so bad!
Great video mate 😊
Very impressed with those back deck rolls
Thanks mate. That has been my aim for some time.
Mega Tomek back deck roll wychodzi ci super . 💪🏼
Best video you've done - but I am baised as the Taf Fechan is only 2 miles from my house
Thanks man. I think the clip came out pretty good. Next time you need to join us if its local to you.
is that 0.55 on the Merthyr gauge or the Pontsticill Res gauge
Not sure which gauge we used as don't remember. I think it might be the latter.
Looks great.
What level was it running at? Was that Andy Shan and Paul Kaine I spotted there too?
Yes its them. Really nice lads. Im not entirely sure what was the level, but it was definitely above 1
Nice one. just a bit jealous over here in Essex
Kolejny dobry filmik Tom. Gratulacje Ps. Szkoda ze szumu wody nie słychać
No nie pomyslalem zeby zostawic szum a moglem
