I could only imagine how warm it would have been if the bottom was sealed up with some snow or debris!

I’ve been in some crazy winter conditions . Personal record was -17 without the wind chill , in a hammock! Would not recommend without proper gear lol.

Only tips I really have for solo camping are plan ahead , and go through your gear at least twice before you go. I make a list on my notepad app on my phone so I don’t forget anything and still manage to forget something lol ! Thanks for the view.

Trust me I would have loved to have had a fire as well. Everything was just too wet . Also our fire pit was really close to the tent and I didn’t want to risk it lol.

Got my stove for the hot tent now ! Just using the tent for the next video (because I didn’t have the stove yet) and then the following video is going to be with the stove as well.

I’ve seen some newer swag roll style tents with a similar setup to what you’re describing. Good idea !

It’s a tent fly for a Belgian army dome tent! Someone got it as an extra when they ordered them and it was in rough shape. Now I use it as a ground sheet . Thanks for the question !

@@Camping-with-Samps What is it made of? Nylon? I was about to buy one of these, but the camo pattern doesn't suit the flora of my country, Portugal.

Nylon is what they claim it’s made of , and it’s really thick . And honestly it really only works in my area in the very early spring and late fall. But if you can find one that’s in good shape I do recommend it! It was a pretty nice addition to the collection .

If you listen to me you will have a rager . If you don’t , then you won’t ! Lol

That’s totally understandable. It gets dark around 430 here but we usually try and stay outside as long as possible. Just to avoid going stir crazy in the tent for that long. Also I don’t think it would make a good video just being in the tent for that long. But if that’s something you would watch let me know. Might give it a try!

Thanks for the view , there used to be an old motel called O’Briens inn on the mountain behind me . It’s been closed for a while but we were near the Susquehanna river in Pennsylvania.
