in round 3 you would dc 2 times at the end of the round in order to get 74sts, cause you go in the same st you chain 2 to start your increase not the next st. I did two little shoes and couldnt figure out how to get to 74sts before I realized thats how...I just did an increase at the last st to get 74 but now I got it.

confused with the main part of bag. 39 rows makes the bag 12inches wide instead of 8.5 inches. And from your image I have counted only 29 rows??

This pattern doesn't work - 48 stitches after round 3. Then if you add up the stitches on the pattern for round 4 - you need 52. - no wonder It didn't work after half a dozen attempts
