Kayak Bass Fishing after a RAINSTORM - Do fish bite in the rain?!
Do fish bite in the rain?
We go fishing in torrential downpour chasing some largemouth bass in the Kawartha lakes. Getting soaked was only the start to the day. We caught numbers of bass and lost our first ever MUSKY!
The fish were on the move and hit a variety of different lures, such as: chatterbaits, swimjigs, tubes, wacky rig, swimbaits, beaver baits and a top water Berkley Choppo!

Fall Bass Frustrations vs Bluegill Bliss (Catch and Cook)
มุมมอง 169ปีที่แล้ว
I headed to a lake in Southern Ontario in the hopes of some fall bass and faced some challenges. I end up stumbling upon a school of some nice Bluegills and decided to turn the day around for a tasty catch and cook! Fall fishing can be great but there is definitely a time just before the feed where the fish can be in a funk. Few more cold nights and cooler air temps should get them going. I fis...
Chasing 5 FISH! Kayak Bass Fishing (Southern Ontario)
มุมมอง 302ปีที่แล้ว
Kayak Bass Fishing in Southern Ontario. I spent the day kayak fishing for a 5 fish limit - The idea was to pick a few spots on the lake and breakdown what I had available to me, in order to prepare for some kayak bass tournaments next year. I used navionics to find structure and fished a variety of depths, lures and techniques. Chatterbaits, Underspins, Spinnerbaits and a Dropshot got bit! Time...

Tough losing that fish wrapped around the log then breaking off💔🤮
I was looking for this. Thanks a bunch man!
Glad I could help!
Well done bro
Thanks for watching. I hope it helped.
Hey mate awesome run done of this Yak….. possibly a 1yr update review and your setup now? How did you go in your first fishing tournament?
Yes I didn't make much upgrades but a 1 year review is definitely in the pipeline. Check out my first kayak bass tournament video :)
@@reelnationfishing oh sweet, well ill have to check out that vid then Thanks
You should anchor downwind of the shoal & cast your drop-shot into the wind & comb the rocks. There are some nice walleye in there ! Maybe try froggin' the windswept bullrushes in shallow on dreary days. An old killer for walleyes was a Worm-harness with a JuneBug spinner ahead of it to pull thru the coontail weeeds, Look for Cabbage weeds for Musky in deeper channels. Fish on !
Great points. Will keep it mind. Thanks for watching!
Test yourself to be your best self
I appreciate you bro.
Nice vid. Well spoken. To the point. Thanks.
Thank you. I'm glad it helped!
Stoney is a grind right now, i live on the lake and this weather has them moving around a lot. The walleye bite is good though
def was that day - its a lake that ill be coming back to a lot. really like it. lots to explore. thanks for watching!
We need to follow Jesus not our dreams!!❤❤❤ . You will have a more fulfilled life!
Thank you for the comment!!
thanks for sharing the information mate. I ordered mine just 3 days ago and your review is very usefull! any experience with it on saltwater? Greetings from Greece
Awesome. Hope you enjoy it. Unfortunately no saltwater review, I have 0 access to saltwater.
Hello sir thank you sir for sharing your first days in a tournament! A beautiful day and fun day and the fish were behaving nicely most times lost a real good one it’s best to experience it now go through the emotions and get back into the game again! Now that you got this tournament behind you what are you are going to do to prepare for the next one? Tight lines sir take care and God bless.
thank you for watching! - My goal was to get the experience of tournament fishing and did just that. I really need a fish finder, so working on getting some upgrades and get back to it. For now, ill be fishing local lakes and possibly more tournaments!!
Great video thank you, are you going to put a Fish finder, GPS or trolling motor on it? The reason I ask is this is the kayak I’m going to get and I want to do tournaments on it, I’m just not sure what is allowed. Can you please answer this and keep the videos coming!
Yes my plan is is to get a fish finder and a gps trolling motor on the setup. Both can really help with getting on fish. Its also a competitive advantage for tournament fishing. The kayak is great, ive kept it pretty bare bones and plan on doing a 1 year review video. Tournament trails are all different - find one in your area and read the rules as to what's allowed and isn't. Most larger trails allow for fish finders and motors. Thanks for watching.
@@reelnationfishing thank you for reply and GL man!
Especially on glass water !!
Yes!!
What is the tube setup? Looked like you were punching with a tube, interesting in the rig…
Just a weightless texas rigged tube. 3.5 inch tube. On a 3/0 hook. Has a nice steady fall. Can't reallt punch with it as it's light, but in pockets and above weeds it slays.
Awesome video brother keep it up
Thanks bro!

Caught some nice chunks buddy!
Thanks for dropping by man!!
Do u just print out the identifiers for the tournament and write in after u sign up for tournament
Yes, you can print blanks. Once the code is released the day before the tourney you just fill it in. Also, don't forget to go over all the rules prior to the event. Check fb page for okbt.
Nice job man. Tournaments are a blast
They definitely are. Looking forward to more. Thanks for dropping by!

poor roof
It is what it is for now. Looking to get a roof rack this season!
i have a OT 120 pdl thinking about getting another kayak 2024 slayer max 10 or titan x 10 for my brother or myself so I'm just watching youtube and doing more research ATM wish i can test the kayak but all my friends has hobbie or Oldtown only Thx for Ur Review
OT 120 pdl is a good kayak. You can test out kayaks at a few dealers. Im not sure where you are located but if your seriously considering buying an expensive kayak, I would test it out.
That one pike was a biggun. The gators were biting. Great job sight fishing that chunk bass. Thats why its always key to have a follow up bait like a wacky rig ready. Great persistence. New sub to the channel, from NJ. Tight lines, dude.
Thank you!!! It was a fun day. Wacky rig is a great follow up bait!
That smallie was awesome. He gave you a nice battle. Breaking down a new spot is never easy. Great job.
Breaking down a new spot can be brutal but it's where all the learning happens.
Oh how I miss summer. You got both got a stud. Congrats on the 4 pounder.
Can't wait till spring :(
Gorgeous brownies, right from the bank. Gotta love the top water and the ned. You will catch a fish on the customs soon enough.
The kayak is very nice, but i just can't get past the procedure to engage and dis-engage the peddle unit! That cover is a no-go for me, i owned a cheap entry level $1200.00 peddle kayak (HooDoo-120P) that has the exact same set-up for the peddle drive and i sold it because of that, it was such a pain in the a$$ to lift and clean or when the water got shallow, I ended up with the oldtown sportsman 106pdl one twist of the nob and it lifts right up. Nice review i just can't believe a kayak at that price point doesn't have a more convenient peddle unit?? Enjoy and good luck, tight lines!
I hear you. I actually don't mind the cover at all. It does take a bit to get used to it. This being my first fishing kayak, I didn't feel it to be as cumbersome. Been a good first season. Looking forward to spring! Thank you for the comment!
Great video
Thank you sir!! 👍
Nice and good simple kayak carry
Thank you!
Good system, well thought out. I am interested in where you obtained the toggles for the hood and trunk. That would be very helpful to me in trying to construct my own rack. Thanks for your help and time.
I happened to come across them at Canadian Tire. If your not in Canada I'm sure a hardware store would sell them. Amazon also has a variety of them. Thank you for the comment!!
