This song certainly sets the tone for the movie. If you're weirded out by anything that comes after, you can't say they didn't warn you.

I don't necessarily agree with the lyrics to this song. In a movie, you don't need to. I like the upbeat music in the song and it's really fun to sing. Also, in David Copperfield, my favorite character has always been Aunt Betsy.

Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn were. such good songwriters! Their songs were always fun and uplifting! They wrote the songs for the original Pete"s Dragon, the television special The Magic Paintbrush and the Oscar winning songs The Morning After and We May Never Love Like This Again as well as countless others. I really miss that wonderful songwriting team.

this is not a pointless song in the movie because it really defines the character of Aunt Betsy one of the most interesting characters in David Copperfield she didn't like boys at first but grew to love her nephew David later this is the best song in the musical David Copperfield in my opinion by two amazing songwriters
