F1000 Race 1 Oulton Park - Lee Morgan Racing
After a snapped chain going out of the pits in qualifying, I had to start from the back of the grid (P22) for race 1 of the weekend. Unfortunately unknown to the team, when the chain snapped it had damaged part of the clutch mechanism. This meant I struggled to get the car below 3rd gear and had to blip the throttle every time to go down the box, luckily my flat shift helped me on the upshifts. This made the start fun as I struggled to even start in my grid box and even with my foot fully down to the floor the car was trying to drive forward. The video is the highlights of race 1 on my battle through the field to cross the line in P6 which would later become P5 due to a driver ahead getting a time penalty.

Starting 18th on the grid I made my way to P8 with the chance of making up further ground looking unlikely. Lucky for me a late safety car bunched up the field and with just 2 laps to go it was time to attack. This pass took me to P5 and on the final lap I passed another car to end the race in P4. For race 3 I started P2. After my tyres went off in race 2 we opted for new tyres for the final race of the weekend. This is something I wouldn't normally do as its better to bring in the tyres slowly which in a race isn't easy. For the early stages of the race I managed my tyres and the gap to the leader. Once I felt the tyres come to me I went on the attack and this was the pass for the lead....

After 7 years of trying I finally improved my Donington Park lap record by 4 tenths in race 1 2019. Part of this was due to a slight alteration to the final corner meaning you could attack and carry more speed though the corner. Some really close racing over the next couple of laps taking 2nd around the outside and then the lead a few laps later. I went on to win the race.

Amazing. I'm taking my F1000 to cadwell for the first time in a couple of weeks, it's my rookie season and there is so much to learn and an amazing experience. I'm pretty sure I won't be doing any driving like yours mind.

The first overtake on the grass was great. Must feel really good going past the people at the back of the grid that can't afford a top spec car.

Great drive. Im interested in these where is best to look for advice / cars for sale etc? Been racing the bikes for years but recently switched to cars and gone to caterhams, but the contact is a bit much so looking for something where competitors are not as keen to ram you…
U gotta build them I believe using a jedi frame/chassis which you can buy from them (750 motorsports)

Your driving is really good here and in your more recent videos. Where have you found the most time since this video? Setup, motor or driving?
Adam Kent I would probably say setup and driving. Engine over the past 3 seasons is actually down on power compared to this video. Not sure how by how much but this was a full race spec engine and the engine in now is straight out of the bike and untouched. I think I’m driving well at the moment, making minimal mistakes and lapping consistently. All of which come from experience and seat time.

very good. can you give me some information on the formula jedi like its price and how it is to drive as im looking for a single seater to just play around oulton park in. I been karting for 8 years and after this year I want to be in something more fun and faster. cheers
Best way to get info is to look on the Formula Jedi website, Cost if your looking to buy is anything from 12k up to16k for a good car. If you wanted to test a Jedi car you can contact Frazer or John with the number on the website and arrange a test day with them. The cars are great fun to drive as they have great power-to-weight ratio, you would defiantly have more fun and be a lot faster. Hope that helps, Cheers

These Formula Jedi's, they're definitely quicker than Formula Ford but seem to be almost as quick a F3. Are they? I imagine a season's racing will be much cheaper than either too! Nice driving by the way:-)
