Your information is spot on and you have a marvelous radio and TV voice. I could listen to you all day.😀 As you've said, it has been a few decades and I, like most of us who've gone through the aging process, am a very different person than "back in the day". The biggest difference is from a spiritual perspective. I'm currently living in India and have taken initiation as a Hindu Monk. The name I've been given by my Guruji is Swami Markandeya Bharathi. He believes that keeping the "Mark" in Markandeya is important. The great, ancient sage and author Markandeya has a remarkable story and i would encourage people to do research on this divine being who is said to be one of the eight immortals that lives and retains a body to this day. Lord Hanuman is another. I shall be returning to the UK in the next month, due to unforeseen health issues, so perhaps we can meet at some point. We, as monks, are meant to forgo our past, family, friends and lives... living only for enlightenment or "the truth". I believe that we can acknowledge what has come before and through good communication, speak about what has changed via thought, word and deed that take place from those who do their best to live in the world but not of it. Im proud to be born and living in Milton Keynes all my life and was born the year this movie came out. I’ve known about the filming locations since I was a kid and while I’ve not seen Superman 4 in its entirety it’s really cool to have seen the scenes that were shot and how they looked back then.

I watched Superman IV with my son recently. With all its shortcomings it is still better than 99 percent of the Marvel movies out there. It’s got charismatic actors, the kind we don’t see today. And it’s got soul.--I never thought I’d say this after one utterly disappointing day back in 1987.

Martin we have to make the Furie cut of Superman IV a reality. For years i hope it will be possible for Warner to locate and re edit the movie the way it was a reality for the donner cut of part II. Sid Furie is a great director. He deserves it and so do all of us. IV have really brilliant moments.

With a few tweaks to the script and Cannon not gutting the budget, it could have been a really good film.

I saw all the Superman movies out of sequence and this was the first movie I saw and I loved it. In fact my least favourite movie is Superman 2, which I know for a lot of people is the gold standard Superman movie. My problem with it is that it was on tv a lot when I was a kid so it got old very quickly and story wise I wasn’t really interested in Lois and Clark’s romance and that dragged on for me. Anyway I digress, my parents bought this for me on VHS and it had the tornado sequence and the mission scene which have been largely edited out on the blue ray and is weirdly in a really rough cut. In the VHS it was cut perfectly so I don’t understand what happened there. As an adult, I agree the effects are awful and it’s definitely not the greatest movie of all time, but I still love it.

I’m surprised they had the budget for crew jackets!

I still don't understand why Superman doesn't just take Lex back to prison right away.

Excellent video, really love seeing crew gear and items from collections but going the extra mile and reassembling it like that was awesome.

Mesmo com o Superman IV sendo uma bomba, eu acho interessante parte da trama onde o Superman, durante a Guerra Fria, decide interferir na política tanto dos EUA quanto da União Soviética e simplesmente pegar todos os mísseis nucleares de ambos. O roteiro desse filme teve participação do Christopher Reeve. Infelizmente é uma vergonhosa produção de baixo orçamento.

Christopher Reeve as Superman and Burt Ward as Robin both came straight out of the comics. They really brought those characters to life.

Great commentary this movie will always be a nostalgic love for me.. Only Superman movie I ever saw in theaters as a kid. My Mom bought me all the 7-11 Superman 4 collectors cups LOL.. Sadly it seems like a lost cause to get the full version of this movie. WB upgraded it to 4K and sadly created new problems with the audio and they seem to be done with it.. WB also is notoriously terrible for taking care of their older films or releasing lost footage like this. I'd also like to see the directors cut of Deep Blue Sea with the original ending but NOT holding my breath..

I actually really loved superman 4. Was the first superhero movie I ever saw as I kid. Yes it was a made on a shoe string budget compared to its previous movies in the series BUT you can still Christopher Reeve influence on the story & is still very well constructed. Love the idea he up against darker superman (nuclear man) with very similar powers & trying to end nuclear warfare. Is a larger than life story & Christopher Reeves performance is still incredible as he always was. Peace dude.

I actually took a picture with a Christopher Reeve Superman Costume during the summer of 1999 at Planet Hollywood when there was one in Columbus, Ohio when I was vacationing with my mom!!!

The FIRST and only time I've ever seen a screen worn Superman 🦸‍♂️ costume was at the Smithsonian when I was a kid. I stared at it for an hour and damn near wanted to lick the glass it was encased in. Lol 😄
