Ysabella Elisheva Hazan - We ARE Israel
"I think our role is to be connected to our identity. Our identity is Israel. We are Israel. We are Am Yisrael... I think when you get more connected to your identity, you'll find the answers on your own." - Ysabella Elisheva Hazan
Now the question is, are you seeking out those answers?
Listen to this deep and heartfelt conversation I had with Ysabella, where we unpack the different ways she has found that authentic connection and drive to fight for (and ultimately live in) our Homeland.

********************
About Decolonized Judea:
This is a movement beyond Judean wear. It’s about Jewish pride and empowerment. Decolonized Judean is about telling the Jewish story from a Jewish lense and shifting culture.
Decolonizing Jewish identity means learning about the Jewish story from a Jewish lense - and that means not forming your opinion on the Jewish ancestral homeland from those who seek to destroy it.
Thousand of years in the diaspora has added many layers and elements of colonization to our identity and culture. Decolonizing Jewish identity means connecting with our roots but not by going backwards, it means moving forward in advancing the next stage of our collective peoplehood. It simply means taking charge of our Jewish story and not forming or acquiescing elements of our peoplehood to our oppressors. There is no one way to be a decolonized Judean because there is no one way to feel connected to your identity and culture.Decolonized Judean, Empowered Judean

The recent Fakestinian riots across the USA was a foreshadowing of events to come in the USA, the Islamists already in the US (and with 300,000 pouring through Texas every month, they mix in there from Afghanistan, so the current number is growing) can riot again while trying to escape, yes or no? Would the state invade the USA to save you? Not likely. So, unfortunately, even though the point your father made that we now have a state is true, history even up to recent events show your father is wrong.

Please forgive me that i have not seen all of your shows, but I have watched a couple of them. It seems to me, that you are basically conflicted, between your family on the one hand, and your responsibility to your future, and the future of Am Yisrael, and this narrative, of how and when to end the exile, is your way of exploring your own ideas, a hope that by meeting and discussing with a wide specturm of Jews, you will find the truth, that you will hear a solution to your conflict. My question to you, Izzy, is it possible that if your whole family said they are moving to Israel tomorrow, that you would not join them? So, the only hold back you have from accepting your future now, is your family. You are not alone. However, are parents, siblings or other family a reason to not make aliyah? It turns out that parents, according to Jewish law, cannot tell a child not to make aliyah. They may not have to. You may not need them, because the love parents can give to a child, if it is true Jewish home, is like being surrounded in light, it cannot be replicated anywhere else, except in their presence. I understand this, the love my father and mother gave me, was like being surrounded in goodness and light. However, if you think, somehow, that it is proper to stay, when you have the means to leave the exile, and somehow the mitzvah of honoring your parents will give you merits, to keep you safe in the exile, it will not. I do not necessarily mean physically safe. The longer you stay in exile, the more difficult it is to leave. Think of the USA, like Germany in 1933. Was staying for those who were able to ascend to Israel a good idea? The bad times have only just started, the discomfort now, is nothing compared to the future when the real antisemites take hold, and transform the relative peace and tranquility into a total nightmare, just like every single exile, enjoyed by Jews for hundreds of years, and for the one sin, they lost everything. What was that sin? They stayed too long in the exile (Sefer HaFlah at end of Gemara Kesuvos). So now, you have to choose, between your future, and your comfort that only family can provide. Let me make it clear, that this is not a choice, it may appear like one. It is more of refusal to accept G-d's will completely, and just rolling the dice on the last moment you will be able to successfully leave. Would your parents want you and your descendants to remain Jewish? Do you think even one Jew will be left in the USA after the coming future purge? So, knowing the fate that awaits, what do you think long term would make your parents happier, knowing you have a future and chance to succeed in Eretz Yisrael, or keeping you close in a place strikingly similar to 1933 Germany, a place obviously going down rapidly. You have to decide, how long you will say no to G-d and what the consequences for you and the rest of the nation, by putting off the tremendous holy obligation, of living in the land. Feel free to check out homeboundisrael.com and torahcafe.com Secrets of Eretz Yisrael in Jewish law, for more info why it is not a choice, any more than keeping kosher, keeping Shabbos, or any other mitzvah is a choice. It is acceptance of G-d's will. G-d did not ask us if we like it better outside of Israel or not. He commanded us to live in one land. So you will find out where Home is, when you accept completely the mitzvos, in totality, no matter the personal cost. That is the yoke of the kingdom of heaven, it is yoke, an unpleasant even choking restraint on what you want, compared to what G-d sees as right. A clear fate awaits all Jews who remain, and while it may be a great mitzvah to bring others with you, it is wrong to wait for them to just "get it". They don't, they are too far entrenched. Leave and that vacuum has potential to save them too. The conflict you have is real, but eventually, if you do what you know you must, accept your future, the quicker you do so, the more likely your family will join you later. Today, use video chat and recreate a shadow of that light every to speak with your parents, and you will have the support you need to make it home. You will make it, because you decided to love your father in heaven more than your own parents. In this, you cannot fail long term, you can only succeed, and when you eventually arrive again, to pass the continuing tests here, you will succeed in ways you cannot imagine. You will only regret every minute you did not come to Israel's aid in its time of war.......use technology to maintain a virtual face to face family connection, every day, and end the conflict......Home is in Israel and so long as you are not home, it will continue to burn inside until each day becomes a day of regret. That, is the greatest pain of all. The only way to end that regret, is to come home, turn the light back on, make the switch, this Jew is coming home.......

  • @rubymanagement3004

Connection, without actually being in Israel is like a dream, not real....its almost real.....its just like being in a bad dream, you are "connected" to reality, all you have to do is "wake up", end the nightmare, and come home......

May I suggest, you are being watched by many different peoples in the world, and some are not in full command of the language you speak, and some of those that are speak it much slower. If you believe the words that you are speaking are important, and I do not doubt they are, speaking them to where they can be understood is very important. For example: The title of your guest's book...? Even after listening to it several times your recommendation "to everyone" is completely unknown to me. I hope you may consider this for future broadcasts.

I hope you will appreciate what I'm about to tell you. We have tested 15 different families in the Southeast US from Alabama , the Carolinas, Virginia, West Virginia Tennessee, Kentucky. This was autosomal DNA. We tested rural families ( to avoid the possible affects of inward migration)who have been in their places since the Civil War. Every individual was related to Jewish populations and matched DNA from Israel. All matched Iberia, Berber, Arab and all matched Cherokee, Miwok, Athabaskin Indian. Interestingly, none had British or Western Europe to any substantial amount. We don't understand this. I'm amusing we are descendants of Sephardim who came here without being noticed. Many of us are returning/converting. My family has all converted and we love being Jews. There are apparently millions of us in the Americas. I hope this gives Jews who feel overwhelmed a little comfort. Once again we dont know why this is our situation.

Come to Israel and raise children here. That's what Hashem wants, not wasting your time in meaningless conversations on campuses and elevators. Life outside Israel make people numb. You end up thinking that Israel is this fluffy essence that floats in the air and serve as your anchor. There's no such idea in the torah, three things are acquired with pain: torah, world to come and Israel. Please note that pain doesn't exclude joy.

I guess the feeling of safety is subjective, but in terms of sheer numbers, Israel is one of the safest places on earth, homicide rates is more than 3 times less than in the US. If you bear in mind that most of homicides in Israel happen between arabs in their own neighbourhoods, safety for jews here is almost the best in the whole world, deaths by war and terror don't significantly raise this number. I lived in half the globe and feel much safer here than in the streets of Paris.

16:25 - such a lie. Iranians treat Jews very well. In fact, Sheila should revisit history. Reza Shah refused Hitler's orders to hand over Iranian Jews. He protected them like no other countries. Historically, Iranians have treated the Jews well. The Bahai religion issue is completely unrelated. Bahai'ism was founded by a British MI6 agent.

Nothing she says made any sense. First, Iran is fine. It's safe and many Jews live there. Persians are great - she knows that already. Second, nobody "escaped" from Iran. People who were pro-Shah left by choice - it wasn't about religious persecution. Third, the US pushed the Shah out, thinking Khomeini would be more compliant. It's precisely because of US/Israel foreign policy that Mullahs exist.

You said something so profound. Not living in Israel as a Jew is a punishment. Just finished reading/studying Daniel. As a Christian, we study the scriptures looking for the big picture. My heart breaks for Israel’s lack of faith in God. Breaks. I just returned from visiting for the first time, I was in Jerusalem when Iran attacked and God protected Israel completely. Miraculously. I only wish, pray and hope that Israel will turn from their unbelief and love God with all their hearts…and be saved. Look up. Your redemption is coming. And soon. ❤❤❤

I'm not sure I agree about secular Zionists being a dwindling demographic. Most of my family and friends who live there are secular Zionists. They have very little spiritual connection to the land, and barely identify as Jews. They resent the laws that restrict bus service on Shabbat and holidays, and treat all Jewish holy days as an excuse to travel to Turkey or Thailand. As they like to say, "we are not Jews, we are Israelis". And I'm not sure that's a minority attitude in Israel. I could be wrong.

Igal Hecht considers himself an extraordinarily talented filmmaker and journalist. He should have noticed, that there is something wrong with some of the people he is courting. Facts are not checked conscientiously and a well-founded research does not necessarily take place. Maybe it's time to take a more critical look at Igal Hecht and dig deeper.

Among Jews, Igal Hecht appears as the great Zionist and supporter of religious circles. He even calls Rabbi Yehuda Glick a friend. In interviews, the filmmaker, who was born in Israel and has lived in Toronto since 1987, regrets that he did not serve in the Israeli army. Unfortunately it would not have been possible, because he lived in Canada. This is not true, because every Jew with Israeli citizenship is asked by the Israeli embassy at the age of 16, if they want to serve in the IDF. He had probably refused to do the army service. So far he has always jumped on current topics, but the authenticity and truthfulness of his documentaries has only been scrutinized by a few. Maybe because he's almost completely unknown,

ve heard alot of horror stories like young girls being infected with herpes by birthright guides, babies stolen from emmigrating jews and people being locked in third world conditions in houses stolen during the nakba where they are threatened with their kids being taken away if they try to flee. the reason they steal so many homes is because global organized crime launders money in fake charities like "home jersualem" and many people cant afford to live with out stealing from christian land owners. its a toxic and oppressive culture.
