For me I like to imagine my character heard my old character on the radio or some sort of indication of survivors kinda like left for dead and when they find them they essentially either bury them or just leave them in peace

if you're not paranoid about opening every door you're not going to survive long

The other day I was doing better than ever, then my car crapped out, I swung at a single zombie and my character swung a bit too far so her back was facing the zombie and it got a cheeky bite in... I love this game so much lmao

Why people still wears the worst clothes of the whole game??? It makes you slow, sweaty, and it is heavy as hell.

Best one yet, I was wearing full SWAT gear and somehow got one on a closet, turned around to pull my bat but the zombie grabbed me from behind and infected me, STILL pisses me off, had a nice car, ammo and fuel for a month, sucks but thats zomboid

The difference between your previous characters and any other zomboid is that you knew the steps it made. You know where they got their gear, their loot, their base and their infection. While every other zomboid simply spawns and has no correlation of what happened before they died. These dead souls are our past that reminds us if we did something differently, they could have lived some time longer

There is a rebalanced mod that I used because it doesnt make sense that you need masters degree in carpentry and 25 years in the labors union experience to give you the skills, along with a full arsenal of hammers, saws and screwdrivers just so you can move a chair without breaking it

whever i keep going with a new character after my last one died in PZ, i always bury them in the yard of my base. usually ill build a cross and put down a notebook with their name written on it as well. thats pretty much the best it gets

I often find guns 1st or 2nd day with tons of ammo but I don't want to use it since even as a police officer I don't think it's worth with this kind of aim level

When i first played this game i didnt really get it, some time later i tried it for a second time, it was so goooood, the inmersion was amazing, there were so many things you can do, i like playing as myself and delete the world when i die, when my best friend started playing i thought we would have the same aproach somehow, but sadly his playstyle was way too different, it killed the game for me a bit, too much respawning, too much pvp, i would rather play solo than with him, lately i have come back to the game, only mods that add realism, for better inmersion, and its still so good, hope build 42 comes soon. On my latest world i tried a new way to play, new character every time i die, same world, random spawn out of 2400 possible ones, only if i happen to find an old character, then i can kill it and take his stuff, but not going there purposelly trying to continue his mission.

I remember my friend asked me to help him to remove some nice floor tiles somewhere in Riverside... After 7 destroyed tiles in the row he told me "Yeah, stop helping me, please go back to base or at least stop touching the floor" xD

This fellow had a story of how he died. The rest of the shambling masses don't. That's what makes encountering your dead predecessor both awesome and heartbreaking.

How can we justify building alarms going off after the power goes out? Just wondering cuz I do 10 Years Later runs and disable building alarms

The zombies may be dumb enough to keep bumping into doors and windows when there's an easier route a centimeter away, but they are absolute geniuses when it comes to more complex navigation. Spotted a survivor on the top of a three-story building? Break the door down, walk all the way upstairs without falling, knock into the right door and navigate into their exact position, and finally, eat them alive. Too much proficiency for a rotting corpse.

for newbies like me out there, make sure you have a fully functional bullet factory and atleast 3 warehouses full of bullets before you even shoot a single firearm... or just... wing it 🤷

You should never use fireman outfit, it give to you so much move speed and atack speed penalties also it gives a lot of insulation. So it makes you slower and tired faster. Rely on outfit who give no penalities and only use high insulation outfit at winter.
