That knife will probably clean up really nice. It is amazing how a good quality knife left out in the elements for a while can be still be restored and a low quality knife degrades very fast.
I found this a while ago, it was on an old video, my son said it looks like Damascus steel
@@arthurschwarz3359 Damascus steel has a very distinctive pattern in the steel from hammering and tempering. You can polish or buff the steel to see the pattern. That could be a valuable knife.

I can see you are not using the Accupoint. What is your opinion on the Accupoint compared to other pinpointers you have used?
I really liked it at first, but now it seems I have to retune it all the time. Still better than the minelab one, but now my mi6 is acting weird,lol
@@arthurschwarz3359 I have 2 bad XP pinpointers in about 3 years. My Mi4 I used for almost 2 years has a bad battery, I also have an Mi6 I used for almost 2 years and it falses in open air. Remember I metal detect almost like a full time job. I will be removing the battery out of the falsing Mi6 and installing it in the Mi4. Gotta do what we gotta do to keep our tools working. I see you are running a Legend, D2, and Manticore. I have all three but just got the Manticore and haven't had an opportunity to use it. I only hunt relics and the Deus 2 is my favorite but i really enjoy the Legend. Hows the Manticore with the M8 coil compare?
I am really liking the manticore with the m8, I prefer the smaller coils and it performs well, and plenty deep, thanks
That diatonic concertina reed plate was a fantastic find!!. I find single squeezebox and accordion reed plates here every once in a while. I found an accordion reed block about 20 years ago.

What do you do with the scrap iron pieces?
The cooler stuff I hang up in my shop, the junk I keep in buckets, I don't know why
@arthurschwarz3359 it all adds up, we find so much small brass and copper that I hate to just toss, gotta be worth something to a scrap yard once you have buckets full

A metal scrap. It seems old and a little burnt. Maybe something blew up. Maybe it was a tank in battle. Things are there for a reason

Those demolition homesites are the greatest challenge in all of metal detecting. Just the shear volume of trash that gets mixed in the dirt. Thanks for the video Arthur!!

I noticed you used fast in this video and sensitive full tones in the first one. Just out of curiosity, which one did you like better and that heavy iron, the fast or the SFT?
The iron is so heavy there, just trying different combinations, but I think fast with pitch is a little better for me, but of course every site is different, thanks
