Roots Community
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 24 ก.พ. 2020
Roots opened in early 2018 as a community space, dedicated to providing a warm environment, facilitating great conversations, being accessible in space and in faith, and giving each member of our community a home-away-from-home. Our goal is to provide opportunities and experiences to supplement the Islamic institutions in the Dallas Fort-Worth area. Our efforts are under the guidance and mentorship of Qalam.
We Aspire To Facilitate Spiritual And Social Spaces That Are Welcoming, Meaningful, And Nurturing, In The Spirit Of The Prophetic Community.
The Prophetic practice of welcoming and embracing community is at the core of a safe space. We aspire to be a community that grows towards the ideals of our faith and spirituality together, while continuing to appreciate each of our experiences. Our philosophy is built upon the belief that spirituality prospers in the environment of social semi-sacred space and in the reflective state of individual worship.

I am really enjoying these series. Jazak Allah koul khir

Brief notes 🌱 - don’t become a person that argues about religion, because most of the people that do that actually have no idea about that topic at all - What is halal is halal even if no one is doing it and what is haram is haram even if everyone is doing it - What is right or wrong in the deen should be left to the scholars, those who dedicated their life to that cause TikTok is the house of yapping - The more you engage in debate the more you start hating people, and you end up cutting people off - Everything Allah says we should do always come with steps on how they should be done and we learn that from the prophet ﷺ When you find yourself in a place where you need to have a “argument or debate” 1. Never become disrespectful about the topic - don’t mock the topic even if you disagree with it - uphold the sanctity of Allah 2. Always hold yourself to a high standard - when they go low don’t go low with them - don’t use bad language 3. Be sincere and know when to take the L 4. Be thorough 5. Once things are settled thank Allah - that there is a clear path forward 🌱 don’t be angry - The default ruling for anger is that its bad - it’s a reprehensible thing - But there are moments when it’s allowed - If you can’t control your nafs then it will be very difficult for you to not get angry - Anger has the ability to shave your faith away - The strong one is not the one who can beat up other people, rather it’s the one who has the ability to control their anger ♥️ When was the last time you were able to stop yourself from doing something you really wanted? - remember Allah is Al Baseer - Al Raqeeb - He is always watching- cheering you on because He wants you to win - Allah promises Jannah to the one who able to hold themselves back - Anger is intoxicating like wine and it has its own hangover, which is usually regret from what they said and did - Everyone gets angry but don’t let it consume you - anger is like a sand storm you’ll have to let everything get settled before you make a decision - Say something good or be quiet - when you feel angry seek refuge in Allah from Shaytaan How to know if your thoughts are from Shaytaan or you 1. From you : The thoughts Sound familiar - normal 2. Shaytaan whispers are crazier - and a bit more extreme - make wudhu when you’re angry - Go and lay down - remove yourself from that situation ♥️ A person who can’t control their anger can’t be close to Allah it leads to using bad language, jealousy, envy Righteous anger - When you see bombs dropping and innocent people being killed it’s ok to be angry in these instances
Allahummah Barik 🤍 thank you
Can someone please share the istighfar hadith?

I am your sister from Yemen, and by Allah I only spoke out of hunger and distress. My mother, my brothers, and I lessons and tears. We are in a situation that only God knows about. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs for those who broughtOh people, we are your sisters, by God 😭😭😭 We do not even find a loaf of bread inside the house that would satisfy you, oh nation of Muhammad. People are brothers. Oh God, make your righteous servants subservient to us. Oh God, make your righteous servants subservient to us. My appeal to every Muslim, oh Lord, if he sees this message, may He prolong his life, make him happy, and cover him. May God reward him. God is sufficient for me, and He is the best disposer of affairs. There is no power or strength except with God. Oh people, oh nation of Muhammad, oh people of goodness, oh people of mercy. We are your sisters and your children. By God, we do not even find a loaf of bread inside the house that would satisfy you. Oh nation of Muhammad, I only spoke out of extreme hunger and distress. My mother, sisters, and I are displaced from our homes because of the war. We are in a state that no one knows about except God. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs, against those who brought us to this state 💔💔 By God Almighty, I only wrote this appeal out of extreme poverty and poverty, oh people. I beg you by God Almighty, Lord of the Mighty Throne, that I do not have food at home. By God, my brothers and sisters have been sitting around for two days. Without food, by God our situation is very difficult, we are 6 people in the house and my father passed away and there is no one to support us and we live in a rented house and we cannot pay the rest of the rent. I am not lying to you nor deceiving you nor cheating you. I am a Yemeni girl displaced because of the war between me and my family over a rent dispute and the owner of the house. By God, my brother comes every day and humiliates us and talks about us and wants us to go out to the street because we are unable to pay him the rent. The neighbors saw us crying and talked to the neighbors again and gave us a deadline until the end of the week and we swore to God to let us out of the street now we are in arrears of 60 thousand Yemeni riyals for 3 months rent may God have mercy on us our country is suffering because of this war and we do not find our daily sustenance and we live my mother and sisters our father passed away may God have mercy on him and we do not have anyone in the world to come to us in these harsh circumstances my little sisters went out to the street and saw the neighbors eating and stood at their door giving them even a piece of bread and by God in whose hand is the heavens and the earth they closed the door and kicked them out and they came back crying dying of hunger no one has mercy on them and now the holiday has come back to me if no one of us helps us with a kilo of flour by God we will die of hunger brother I seek refuge in God and then in you and I want your help for the sake of God I ask you by God you love goodness and help me even if it is about the rent of the house send me a WhatsApp message on this number 00967711013075 and ask for my card name and send it and do not delay may God compensate you with all good My little sisters, look at their situation and help us and save us before they throw us out into the street and humiliate us or my family and I die of hunger. We ask you by God, if you are able to help us, do not delay on us, and may God reward you with good.'~~_«%•&»_~~_~&:»'////;&&;&;&;;&🎉😢😢😢😢;&;&&&//&..,!~~~♡♡♡~~~♡~♡~•~•~•~•~♡~♡~♡~;l.i.i.i.i.i.l.|........

Allah Huma BariK! 🕊
On the authority of Al-Numan bin Basheer, who said : I heared the messenger of Allah say : "That which is lawful is plain and that which is unlawful is plain and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which not many people know. Thus he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, but he who falls into doubtful matters falls into that which is unlawful, like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Truly every king has a sanctuary, and truly Allah's sanctuary is His prohibitions. Truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh which, if it be whole, all the body is whole and which, if it be diseased, all of it is diseased. Truly it is the heart." Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim
Allaahu Akbar Salla Allaahu Alayhi Wa Ahlihi Wa Sallam Jazak Allaahu Khayran Allaahumma Aameen to all the Duas!

Thirty & up - class 14 Brief notes 🌱 - when you make a pious decision, you get to a state of religious tranquility, your soul feels good 18:00 - What is wrong is wrong even if people give you the thumbs up or the go ahead - What is right is right even if no one agrees with you - THE CONDITIONS IS YOU NEED TO HAVE A PURE HEART TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS BECAUSE IF A PERSON HAS AN UNCLEAN HEART THEY WILL CONTINUE DOING WRONG THINGS AND SEE NO ISSUE WITH THOSE WRONG THINGS - You cant watch haram and try to make it halal ❌❌❌ Music with cardi B like lyrics and satanic videos, or women dressed inappropriately is out of the question!!! Prohibited - music is prohibited for the young person who when they listen to it it stirs up bad thoughts, negative qualities, nothing but base desires that have to do with money, drugs, sex, alcohol etc - Imam Al Ghazali first concern was about the content which might lead youngsters to physiological projection and fantasing about sexuality - We’re so careful about the food we eat, making sure it’s halal and organic, making sure our clothes are good quality, having modern home purifiers etc but we don’t worry as much about the things we listened to, the things we watch, by doing so We’re taking care of the body and killing the heart Makroo (disliked) - it’s for the person that wastes time, spends too much time listening to music, like an adult pacifier, for entertainment - “Al-Ghaz¥lÏ is concerned here with wasting time, as with any type of extended activity that does not generate personal or public good, material or spiritual. Listening here is a distraction from a purposeful life.” - It’s interesting that the synonyms of “entertainment” include diversion and distraction “Permissible” - It doesn’t make them lustful, they don’t waste time but rather they complement the voice and take that beautiful voice back to Allah - This person listens to something and it make them love Allah more and the music makes them want to do praiseworthy attributes From the book: “The third category is when listening to songs is simply permitted. Here the listener enjoys the beautiful voice and the melody. There is no transgression in content and it is done only occasionally. The fourth category is when listening becomes commendable. It is for those whom the love of Allah occupies their whole time, emotions and actions. They are the opposite of the first category, for once they hear a song about the beloved, they think of Allah. The song, in their case, becomes a tool that helps in bringing forth the best in their souls and character.” - entertainment isn’t bad but if it takes you away from Allah then that’s a problem - Your spiritual health is dependent on you, you can’t blame anyone else but yourself
Jzkheir sis 🤲❤️
This is my first time listening to this sheikh and he has become my new favourite. Mashallah his tone, delivery and way of conveying his message is so easily understood to the point where it’s re-wiring my brain. I feel like I can run off and apply this to my life right away. I hope you can come to Australia one day, may Allah reward you brother and yes running thobe is definitely an ick 🤣🤣🤣
Allahumma barik 🕊
Is this the case if it's our parents arguing with us and making us lose our minds too?
Brief notes 🌱 - The more you worry about this dunya the more concerns and worries Allah will send your way The more you make the akhira your greatest concern - Allah will help you through all your difficulties- you’ll have perspective- and not matter how difficult life gets that person will be able to handle it - When a person is content, they become more beloved to the people around them - The dunya doesn’t way so heavily on you - what are things that you do that show that the dunya has a hold on you - are you a person that only buys brand name things so you can impress people? Beware of arguing about the Quran and the religion - this is a very dangerous thing to do, these people generally don’t have enough knowledge about that subject - you’re playing with fire - accusing someone of disbelief (kaafir) is very heavy in the eyes of Allah - Be careful what you say online because people will read those comments and might be taken away from the religion - A religious looking ignorant person is more dangerous than an honest sinner - when you’re very sure that they need to be corrected, do it in an honourable manner - go there with a soft tongue - these people will generally come back - Respond with “salam” if they continue being ignorant - don’t go low - maintain your honour - Don’t lose your etiquette, don’t let them change who you are
Jzkheir sis 🤲❤️
This was excellent ❤ Alhamdullilah for Heartwork

Anyone can guide us as to which pages from the book Ustadh based his reflections on? I have the same copy of Risalatul Mustarshidin in Arabic as ustadh. Just wanted to know the pages, so I could take some notes as I follow the weekly reflections. This is the first episode I have watched in the series.
"The dunya is nothing but lived contradictions."
thank god for roots. ive never seen a speaker like ustadh before, mixing in personal anecdotes and having this rapport with the audience (both irl and virtual?? commendable! mashallah. id write about this more if i had the right format but there is something to say about ustadh's impact on the western ummah
These talks are an absolute treasure! I am so looking forward to them every week. May Allah SWT reward you Ustadh.
The gender section question got up voted 😅. Folks don't know how the masjid of the prophet SAW was designed.
