wampler germanium tumnus deluxe vs klon ktr
มุมมอง 1.7K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
tele into marshall dsl40c with vintage 30 wanted to see the difference in these, with bass and mids at 1 on the tumnus I found that matched the ktr, with the volume all the way up I find the ktr a little woofy it's nice to be able to dial that out with the tumnus the ktr is from 2023
big monk Pompeii fuzz
มุมมอง 1505 หลายเดือนก่อน
a silicon fuzz that captures vintage gilmour fuzz face tones with modern solutions. A built in buffer that's expertly tuned makes this fuzz incredibly versatile, it can be used anywhere in the signal chain, with any pickups even active, with wireless systems or other buffers, no wah problems, it can sound better with modulation pedals, and there is excellent string clarity you don't normally ge...
joe gagan Woodstock jr wah vs deluxe version

joe gagan Woodstock jr wah is now available as a drop in kit, after speaking with joe I also ended up with a deluxe version with a few upgrades, just comparing them to see how they sound tele into fender vibro champ with a bluesbreaker pedal and a big monk Pompeii fuzz (with built in buffer) silicon fuzz, also I apologize for the reverb it wasn't that loud in the room
Joe Gagan Woodstock plus vs Woodstock drop in kits

Joe Gagan is selling a drop in kit version of his Woodstock wah and if you contact him he can upgrade it, and for what he's charging is a steal he has stores on reverb, ebay and you can find him on Instagram and the gear page as well still need some more time with these but so far I love both of them, the upgraded version seems to be a little more vocal and have a little more bass (although the...

The light on the hi-mu must be bright. Just kind of dicect the thing and put a film of tin foil in there with a pin hole or two
They all sound great!!!

I really hate to come on someone’s video and call them a liar, but your playing didn’t suck at all. Great video, man.
Thanks for sharing, this might be the only video of the newer version w the mids knob. Would you be willing to do another video where you explore the lower half of the gain range and the effect of the eq, especially the mids?
My ears bleed
thanks for trying, although your amp was set to "terrible"
Long story short I kept the sunbender
Does the Octafuzz have good volume? I bought a hendrix octavio mini and it seems pretty quiet and subtle fuzz wise. Was a bit of a disappointment.
This octafuzz had plenty of volume
which one does the job better as booster??
I think I prefer the tumnus, the ktr with the volume all the way up can get a little bassy, it's nice to have the eq to dial down a bit
Hell yeah
ass
I have 6 Klon clones. I think the new Ge Tumnus and the J Rockett Archer Ikon Select are the two best so far. I like the Ryra a lot too. The new KTR is ok too. The Ge Tumnus does sound the most 3D along with the Ryra.
Which one do you like more? I bought the Ge Tumnus and then had the opportunity to get the KTR. Now I have to get rid of one. I think i like the KtR more but Tumnus is definitely more versatile.
I mostly use a klon as a boost and I don't prefer the ktr for how I set it up, the bass can get woofy with the volume all the way up, but if you use the gain the ktr does sound really good
Keep them both for a while. No rush. I think over time, the germanium Tumnus deluxe will be the sought-after, hard-to-get prize.
Both sound great, but I always thought the mini used the exact same circuit & BBD chip
I think it does, but parts tolerance and the big one is almost 20 yrs older
Don’t see what all the hype is on the new Tumnus
It is made with germanium. The regular Tumnus Deluxe is known as one of the top favorite clones of the Klon Centaur. The new germanium adaptation sounds even better to most reviewers who compare them.
@@notmyrealhandle how much did you get for it?
@@notmyrealhandle cool.
DgeT sounds more velvety at standard settings. And that's without even considering the 3-band EQ which opens up myriad tones. Plus the hot switch and selectable buffer...DgeT wins hands down.
The Deluxe for the win!
Only usable in the lower 5 for me.
There are some unusable sounds...especially with the tone knob
May I ask- what is the center knob on the mini- is that the wet/dry mix knob?
Yes it is
@@jimmarciano6957 Very nice; thank you!
Thanks for this, but would be helpful if you pointed out which was which?
That's my bad, the green is the Sr version
How is the Pitch Bender mode on the Deluxe? Does it hold steady at the new pitch when the footswitch is depressed (similar to a Whammy Ricochet with only an octave up and down), or does the pitch oscillate while the footswitch is depressed?
It sounds like transformer trouble.
which do you prefer in the room? they both sound good, but from youtube I think I slightly prefer the Boss HF2 sound (HF2 seems less 'hollow' and more 'immediate' for lack of a better term)
I like them both and to be fair I had the treble knob up on the mattress pretty high, but the hf2 retains more bass ...i guess it depends on the application, if it want less of an effect I would pick the mattress but I wanted flanging I would pick the hf2
well i say that then i hear the fuzz n like the other one lol
i like the one that says original cry baby better
That is the regular Woodstock jr ...I like them both
Wampler Tumnus without a doubt...
That's kind of how I feel, with the gain up the ktr does sound nice but I never use it that way
Both super nice!
I like it. It seems to preserve the pickups tone even it higher gain settings. Is that the case?
It definitely has clarity and touch sensitivity at higher gain
what song is that at first?
Big is smother thanks for the video. - Eddie
4:27 what is that u trying to play. It sounds awesome
Some poorly executed pink floyd inspired meanderings, that's my favorite way to use a flanger
@@jimmarciano6957 thanks dude. And Keep on grooving

Firsties!
And which of them is supposed to sound like a plexi? I don't hear anything plexi, just some VERY MUSHY and QUITE UN-DYNAMIC overdrive... so, are these the "plexi-pedals" for those who never played a plexi...?!
these pedals are actually very rich sounding. the guy doing the demo doesn't know how to use them.
The hi-mu just had so much more going on for me. Love it
He just made some more of them, good time to get one reasonably
I've been spying one for a while. He cranked the gain then eventually the level he put it up a bit more. Clear still. Kind of way cool
Now let's see you set a Sparkle Gay setting to that!
Ive seen some people get copyrighted level tones with the blue fuzz fella. But the red sounds better ngl
I prefer the red as well
DIBS!!!!!
The fuzz is a chasetone fuzz fella bc108 v2 and I'm going into the front of a breaking up amp
Damn that thing sounds good ! Ok I've got some questions. What fuzz are you running into it ? Are you running it into the front of the amp, or effects loop ? If it's going into the front of the amp,is the amp clean ,or breaking up ?
They all sound good, and have that Marshall flavor. The Marsha, and the Crunch Box fall in the Plexi camp. The Wampler has that hotrod Marshall flavor like early Van Halen all knobs on 10, amp about to explode sound. If you get the chance, try the J.ROCKETT Animal, and .45 Caliber excellent Marshall in a box pedals. Looks like we have the same taste in gear, I've got a couple of the BMF wah pedals also. I keep the Woodstock board in one I use for when I'm playing a Stratocaster ,and the new improved stock board in another dedicated to humbuckers . One pedalboard I call my Hendrix board, and the other pedalboard I call my Clapton board. Anyway good stuff , keep it up!
It is about time I give that bmf Woodstock another spin, I really like that one
I have an idea...Buy a Marshall!
Even if you have a Marshall it's still good to have options. Otherwise you're stuck with one sound all night long . Most guys use some kind of boost for solo's .
@@BrettRosso-kl5sg I realize, I'm trolling my friend's video. I do it to most of them.
@@lairdhanstrum6335 In that case sorry.
@@BrettRosso-kl5sg Don't bother, You gave a nice answer that could have helped someone.. Like me a few years ago. Since you mentioned Boost for solo, are you an all guitar knobs on 10 guy?
I was view no. 666 🤘🏽
I’ve found mine is basically like early Billy Gibbons in a box. The one side can cover brownface fender as well as tweed (with lomids knob fairly high) and the two side can be dialed in to sound like a Marshall Superlead. Covers most the tones from First Album to Deguello. Excellent pedal.
This is probably my favorite bearfoot pedal, followed by the Copper Topper dm and polar fuzz I agree this one especially covers alot of ground
@@jimmarciano6957 I’ve been wanting to try a copper topper out. All the demos I’ve heard sound great. I’ve been hooked on Donners stuff ever since I plugged into a Honey Bee 15 or so years ago. My main board currently has a putting green compressor, a Silver Bee Plus (silver bee in a bigger enclosure with a switchable boost) and a 4 knob Dyna Red. I really want to try the Martial Artist out. Seems like a higher gain version of the Goldilocks/Sparkling Yellow Overdrive 3.
@adamlee6946 his stuff is excellent, I had several versions of the Copper topper/emerald green there is the od and the dm (distortion machine) I prefer the distortion machine...there is a huge range of tones in there I'm pretty sure the martial artist is the newer version of the dyna red and its a fantastic miab
I have the opportunity to get one of these, and was hoping to find some demos on TH-cam but it looks like this is the only one. The boost side seems kind of pointless. It just took all the low end away and sounded really thin & shrill. I’m guessing that’s because you had the treble dimed each time you engaged the boost. Can the left side sound more full/warm if the treble isn’t at such an extreme setting? Does it retain the low end “nature” of the right side?
It's actually not a boost, its like a second channel where you can have different settings on the volume and treble knobs, I don't know of it was the amp or guitar or high end hearing loss but with this series of pedals I ran the treble pretty high but there is plenty of nice warm sounds available So in this pedal you could dial in a nice fat rhythm sound and and use the plus side for more volume and treble for cut...you can use it as a boost technically but it's not necessarily a boost, don't let my poor demo and lousy playing turn you off this pedal, just make sure the feature set is useful to you, if not donner sells regular versions with custom paint jobs on his reverb for decent prices
Yeah, Bruh! I can play Louie, Louie too... try learning the words!
More bass and edge on the Chase Tone? Sunface a tad smoother, less gain... hearing more strings through the Sunface too, and a little more woof on the Fella, both are great! Maybe the Chase has a more usable range -- w/ less volume on the Sun Face. @4:10 the Fella seems to have upper hand.
I bought the sunface thinking it would destroy the chasetone...but I might like the chasetone a little more, still have more amps and guitars to try, but that bass cut makes it so useable
@@jimmarciano6957I'm liking a Chace Tone 109C for higher volume tones and an AnalogMan BC183 for semi-germanium lower volume spittier fuzz... never had a 108 Sun Face. Thanks for video.
Great comparison. Have the 2.0 and the other two fuzz fellas. Like the 2.0 a lot Always wanted to see how they compared to a silicon Sunface. Also curious how the red fuzz fella compares to a bc183 Sunface.
@screaminguitar24 the red velvet is my favorite so I may end up trying out a bc183 sunface as well
@@jimmarciano6957 Cool! Will look forward to that comparison. The fuzz fellas are awesome. The Sunfaces I have are mainly germanium.
I'm sorry I do not like your tone sir.
With blistering playing like that... how can we tell the difference between transistors?!?
