I am 42 years old, and am autistic. But, I live in my own, have a college degree. But sadly, I only have a part time job, because I feel like my autism holds me back. Don't get me wrong, I love the people I work with, but I want more than what I have. The world is poorly equipped to handle autistic adults.
Love the Bush-Directional tractors, crazy useful on the farm
Why do manufacturers stop making the best things they've ever made?
This is quite an intelligent view on the subject of autism. I like this.
Thank you for sharing!
Good video but could do without the depressing outer space music in the background. 😂
I thank the GOOD Lord 🙏 each and everyday for my training, I'm a retired Home Health Aide, my son is autistic I work with him everyday some parents don't have the training I have. My son is mastering his ADL'S. 😊
I thank the GOOD LORD 🙏 each and everyday for my training as being a Home Health Aide, my son is 29 years old I didn't get any help when he was little and now that he's a adult. I asked the good Lord each and every day to keep me strong. But take him first before me.
Just wanting to echo what other autistic people are commenting... we can mask deceptively well. Autism is not a developmental or intellectual disability. We just think and process things differently and usually are sensitive to stimuli. In all honestly, I'd say nobody knows that most of the autistic people I know are autistic. You likely are friends with autistic people and never knew. It's not something to cure. One last reminder... developmental and intellectual n disabilities are not part of autism. Autistic people may be more likely to have disabilities due to the unique brain architecture, but its not like its extremely likely. I thinkb current data shows that about 33% of us do. So please try to shift your thinking away from "let's cure these affected people" to "It's awesome that you're divergent. We could really use your help with this problem and feel that a different perspective would be beneficial!"
❤ amazing and so compassionate. Thank you 😊
I am undiagnosed disability but I can relate to some of the autism symptons but one of which is hyper active is my sense of smell.
I'm nearly 41, my IQ is high enough to be in Mensa and I was diagnosed with Aspergers as a child. I'm currently reassessed with ASD1 in the social domain, and ASD2 in the non-social/repetitive domain. My life absolutely sucks. I've been on my own since I was 17, support services ignore my needs because there's people on the spectrum who can't hold a job for a year at the time and live independently, so they're deemed to have "bigger needs" but at the same time, I'm unable to do anything useful with my life and my family doesn't want to have anything to do with me. There isn't a day going by where I don't think about ending my life.
That's why full inclusion is important. it's hard to learn social skills from those with similar challenges
actually it's interesting - because Now with SDP and People getting to choose their services that might change
actually, in 2010 , Rosa's law replaced the terminology of Mental Retardation with the terminology of Intellectual disability - please do not use old terminology.
all? I hate generalizartions
Concern? How about focusing on the positives
Hadn't seen this before, well done. Overlooking presentations, choosing to mainstream unfortunately led to a short changing 50-60+ years ago for those who today would be diagnosed on the spectrum today. Offering services to adults from just to seniors is part of disability rights. Information of progress in this direction seems hard to come by. Perhaps an updated production either available or is planned to be available in an easily accessible format covering examples of options functioning or soon to be functioning. Suggested examples would be great.
Hugs
I was circumcised and then bullied my entire life. Why did the world take EVERYTHING beautiful from me?! Being alive is a prison.
As someone who has PDD-NOS my biggest problem with documentaries like these is they don’t show the successful people with autism that are married and have children. Just because someone has autism doesn’t always mean their lives are difficult. Ya gotta include those people in there otherwise it just leads to people making assumptions.
That’s not the focus of the documentary though; it is focused on an important issue that should be addressed more, autistic individuals no longer being eligible for services once they age out of them.
Having autism myself, I sympathise with these people.
Saw one of these working on the snow in the parking lot at my work and was immediately enamored
I work/worked alongside people who are on the spectrum and they're the most honest and, (yes sometimes "blunt"), people I've ever met. Some of the funniest people I've met too. One thing I've noticed is that none of them see race or age, they just see people as people.
It's not increasing its just people not diagnosed this is patronising as usual
I was thinking about this tractor today and I was like I'm going to look them up on TH-cam, I always thought this tractor was so cool and cool looking
I got diagnosed in 2020 at 29 but i still haven't received help. My case worker is a useless young woman who sits on her hands cause these social workers won't do anything without health insurance. So i just sit at home all day in my room alone and frustrated.
Adult diagnosis is way to expensive.
Vaccine injuries
This is like looking at the Future.
I cannot stop watching these videos, I am brainwashing myself into thinking I have autism. They are crawling in my skin
Not everyone with Autism has intellectual disability or learning disabilities
F.Y.I If you're a parent of an autistic child, This isn't the content you want to watch in my opinion. It makes you feel hopeless and depressed. They're great examples of people with autism but this isn't it. I'm not sure if it's the music , but this is depressing.
wtf???
i'm planning on taking my life hopefully by Christmas or my birthday because there are no services available to me anymore I am autistic myself and I don't like it I'm nearly 40 years old my mother passed away my father has too much to deal with as it is and living on my own is getting worse I was thrown to the wolves after living in several group homes so I don't like this at all that there are no supports in place for me this video did not make any sense at all just another way to rub it in and make people feel bad like I do I'm sorry that I'm not able to work at all and hold a job because of my autism there are no available services where I live in Southeast Wisconsin and even if there were there usually unavailable to me and that's what hurts the most not having anybody to advocate for me on my behalf either that's totally not cool and the only way to express myself is to speak into the phone and allow it to type for me and how I feel I've even done it on social media venting and that made it worse on top of that I have no friends at all because the ones that I thought were my friends took advantage of me with money and treated me like I was there bitch and I'm not a bitch I'm a human being yet I'm treated like total shit because of my autism being autistic really sucks I don't know why I can't have a simple relationship let alone friendships yes even the dating world hurts the most and it cost me dearly
Love the video! All students need to come to school feeling welcomed and a sense of belonging. We learn, grow, and play with our school family.
I have described how social expectations are for me as an autistic person with the following analogy: This Friday you will take a calculus test. What, teach you the material? NO I won't teach you the calculus that is on the test. Just figure it out as you are doing it. Does this sound reasonable to anyone? Of course not. Yes, some people can just pick up math after a bit of practice without anyone teaching them. But that is not remotely common. For most this would be an impossible task to succeed at.
Have any of them heard of the Neuro-Detoxicological Therapy Diet recommended by Dr. Kotsanis?
I live in a major US city, and in the entire metro area there are literally 2 options for therapy for adult spectrum disorders (who take insurance) while there are hundreds for children. You don't see this with anything else. There is no focus on childhood bipolar, or childhood anxiety, while ignoring the adult version. Considering the fact that the majority of humans are adults, it makes no sense
I'm 23 and autistic I'm in the middle of the spectrum and I feel I failed being on disability and not getting my dream job
DAMN THIS WORLD IS HELL ON EARTH. EVERYDAY IS PHYSICALLY MENTALLY ABUSE ON ALL HUMAN NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE. SAD ASS WORLD.
I'm an Adult with Autism.
How is flying weight ? IT is 1800mm wingspan?
How is flying weight ?
What is the other New Holland tractor pulling the feeder wagon?
As an autistic mf I can relate
Autistic people when they grew old they get more difficult just like out of the blue mi friend has tree autistic children ages 40 and below they act like an toddlers really really bad
What’s up with the backgroundmusic!?
Brian looks bad with that haircut...sorta like Johnny Cash or cowboyish bad.
A very VERSATILE Tractor
