Honestly I was expecting a "doormat" rather than a bedroom sub (if that makes any sense). Something like "the dragon has fangs like spears-" "wouldn't it make more sense for it to be spearheads?" "alright, it has fangs like spearhea-" "DM could we take a long rest before we roll for initiative?" "yeah of course, let's just say you guys were peeking and hence are unnoticed by the drago-" "can I roll an Arcana check before that" etc

Oh he’s better as a Dom DM? Big surprise. There is a reason it’s called a Dungeon Master y’all. :) Ok but on a more serious note, being a DM is actually a lot like being a Dom. You are entrusted with ultimate control, but only as much as the players allow you. You have to guide, lead, but never force- don’t cross boundaries while also pushing people outside of their comfort zone when they need to, protecting their space and seeing to their wants, needs, and joy. D/s is about power play, and DMing when you get down to it is basically playing God with your players. It’s not always like that, but for good DMs it’s much more akin to Dom/Referee. It’s a lot of work, bloody taxing, and there is a bloody reason the DM begs you to read the character sheet FOR FUCKING ONCE bc they don’t want to be the only one putting in effort dammit! Don’t just sit there! Which is to say, my ex-friend’s dom bf got me a seat at the table of my first TTRPG & those dudes did not keep their yaps closed. I learnt a lot. And then I DMed a campaign of my own- not the other thing- but in hindsight the top heavy room was hilarious by queer nerd stereotypes.

To be fair to the collective caring for it (and I Agree!), I think a Switch DM is actually just the natural state of most DMs (don't quote me though) based on my experience
