Lucas Fowler - Augsburg Aus (Full Cassette Remaster)

Recorded in the early hot summer of 2014. Using the Alchemy iPhone app, mixed on a vintage Yamaha MQ-1602 with two outboard auxes (Alesis Quadraverb GT and Yamaha SPX90II) these were then sent back in. The output signal was fed into a cheap Walmart cassette recorder which I now regret using. I did also have a Roland SH-201 that's sprinkled across the recordings, and an Akai S3000Xl paired with ...

I was surprised at the amount of breathing with the Cookes. The Arles looked very nice.
I wasn't expecting to like the arles more at 2.4 vs 2.8. The color shift is pretty apparent though. I know the Arles is pretty warm, do you think the sp3's are neutral? or cool? Thanks for the test
Honestly i've used the SP3s in the real world with the FX3. Did a trip to Ethiopia and they were amazing lenses. It just depends on what you want. Regardless both are gonna look good
They tend to be cooler, but if your shooting with them in a set you really wont notice it. Only by comparing it to the Arles does it seem more intense.
The Arles are insane
To no surprise Cookes looks much better in out of focus rendition - especially in the cafe shot, despite they are T2.4 compared to T1.5 on Arles. Overcorrected bokeh on Cookes looks so much more interesting and pleasing. Overall Arles are decent for the price, have SOME CA, but not too distracting (I have a 35mm Arles and say it not from those samples but from my own experience). But when people are saying that Arles lean toward warmer tones I wasn't expecting this much compared to Cookes. The trees in the cafe shots even start to look brownish in the BG on the first shot, while on Cookes the are bright green. I haven't done a lot of shoots on Arles yet, but see some things I've already experienced here.
You shot with the cooks at a higher tstop so its sharper. But with the Arles you shot wide open mostly. Cmon man 😅 and the arles still looked sharp even wide open. Arles FTW
You do know that the SP3 widest Aperture is 2.4 right?
Thank you Lucas for giving us this comparison, I really appreciate all of your efforts. Keep up the good work.
Maybe it's just me but this new sensor has absolutely no character. Completely generic digital image.
might just be you
@@lucasfowlerdp I hope so, honestly. From a technical standpoint this camera is a marvel, my issue is just with the sensor. Judging by the sample footage Arri provided and others posted I think the image lost some of its "Arri" look. Just calling a spade a spade.
It definitely has a different look. Much more accurate and balanced skin tones. Compared to a Alexa Mini which is my favorite Digital cam.@@crs2crs2
It's 100% you. Also the character of any camera comes from the lens and how the shot is lit.
Which Zeiss lens is this?
ARRI Alexa 35 looks so good. Wow. Love night shots
DARN YOU TH-cam COMPRESSION. Looks sick man
One of my favourite camera demos ever, thank you
Love this, watched it again, it’s good

Mate, put more videos out. You’re special
Very absorbing and engaging
Great presentation
So good.
Brahaha. Owns a Darkroom. Shoots instant film 🤣
cool jam, you need a desk bro!
I got one! lmao
Is that your music? Sounds like some of the Fabriclive compilation. Very nice
Hey guys, Quandale Dingle here
Very inspiring. I hope to see you go even more towards your passion.
Can you tell me which photos were taken with 28mm 2.8? ? Which photos were taken with 50mm 1.7? ? I am considering buying these two lenses. Hope you can give me some suggestions. Thank you
It was the 28 for most shots. I’m actually upgrading my lenses. The 50mm 1.7 is an amazing lens and is super sharp. My 28 even though it’s in perfect condition isn’t as sharp and is a bit green and blue. Actually quite surprised how much praise the 28 gets, I’m not really impressed with it like the 50mm. Thanks
So good! The music definitely helped.
This is sick 🤙🤙
Metabones xl?
