French Broad River in Ashville, NC after a big rain
a 360 view of the French Broad River from a park in Ashville, NC. The park is located off of the greenway. The high waters are remnants of a hurricane that came through south of the area.

DIY how to Make Cornhole bags

This is how I make cornhole bags. Two pieces of 7" square duck cloth sewn at .5" inseam. Fill w/whole corn to weigh 15.9oz. Sew shut with heavy duty thread. Feel free to ask questions. This method has worked for me for the last few years without any durability problems.

    I am assuming that the number of views to likes and comments is responsible for the fact that in 2012 youtube was mostly used to link videos to platforms like facebook similar to how imgur is used on reddit today; of course this is just speculation, but i think it has a high probability of being correct.

    I've used Café Cup brand refillable coffee pods for the past year. Before this brand I used another type till they were worn out practically in my Keurig. I use Café Cups daily. When I have company over we use them. The best advice is to use medium ground coffee and not fine grind. Do not fill the pod to the top with coffee grounds. Most of the information I've read on this product and similar says to fill the pod no more than 3/4 of the way to the top. Make sure there is no coffee grinds around the lip or ring of the cap of the Café Cup. If there is you will most certainly have a leak as the lid and seal on it will not seal properly. Sometimes, I do have had a pod leak around the perimeter of the pod from time to time but more often than not my coffee comes out decent. These refillable pods will save a lot of money. However its all about personal preference. You will have to experiment. If it's too strong for your taste, use a little less coffee. If the average couple drinks at a minimum of two cups a day, say at 75 cents per prefilled store bought pod, do the math. It will cost $547.50. If you drank four cups a day on average it would be $1095 per year. There are a lot of folk spending that and more and guess who the winner is? The manufacturers and corporate giants. Cash cow! Just some thoughts.

    I just bought these and tried them as soon as I got home (about an hour ago). I used one level scoop of Maxwell House and made a 10 oz. mug. My stars! Was it ever strong! I think I could have walked on it. I had to throw it out because it was terrible. I tried again this time with a half a scoop. It's a little too weak so next time I'll try 3/4. What I'm having a problem with is the sediment. I can taste it. My fiancé doesn't wait long enough before he's getting the coffee into him. Any suggestions on what I can do to minimize sediment with these cups?

  • @edwyrd4227
    @edwyrd4227 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought some of these and I was totally disappointed. It never came out as dark as hers did. It came out pretty weak because the water goes right down the center due to the mesh bottoms, pushing the coffee completely out of the way. I found they became somewhat adequate if I cut a small circle of tin foil and put it in the bottom, but this is a hassle and I'm not going to waste coffee by stuffing as much into the cup as I can.

    I love these. I boughtone pack and went back for two more of them for 8.99 each, on sale. I fill them with my favorite coffee, being careful not to close any coffee grains on the edges so the close tight, I just put in the scoop, and then I store the 12 of them in my coffee canister. I then make the coffee as I do normally, and I don't find it weak at all nor did any of my house 8 house guests at Christmas who all ended up drinking my coffee instead of all the ready made Keurig choices I had purchased for them. I usually run two smalls through the one kcup to fill my mug and I do the same with these. I use the same coffee I always used with my old brewer and the amount of coffee these hold for a mug is equal to what I would put in per one of my mug sizes in my old coffee maker or maybe just a bit more than I would have used. The coffee that comes out is great and equal to the ready made Kcups and they are ready made to go when I toss 12 in my canister. To clean I just put them aside to cool after I make a coffee, band them once after they cool and then open them and toss the grinds in the garbage, they'll all come out at once this way. And then I rinse and put them in my dishwasher with my regular dishes so they're clean and ready to make up 12 more when I run out. I love these. They are so much easier and nicer to use than the Keurig made cup.

    @stephi3357: I have some of those Café cups. I find that the water goes through the Café Cup way too quickly and the coffee is quite weak. I've tried adding as much ground coffee as will fit and have even tamped the coffee down. The coffee still tastes very weak. I did a one on one test with a store-bought Green Mountain K-cup. No comparison! The store bought K-cup brews a much richer cup of coffee.

      wet the grinds and let a small amount of hot water pass over the grinds to get them started befpre i do the actual brew

    • @fmb555
      @fmb555 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are the third type of reusable K Cups I've tried and are the best so far. If you open one of the pre made K Cups before using it, you will find there is only one tablespoon of coffee in each. One of the other brands I've tried advised in the instructions not to overfill or tamp down the coffee as doing so will produce a poor cup of coffee. I fill my Cafe Cup about 3/4's (1 heaping teaspoon) and it produces a standard strength 8 oz cup. Maybe you are using too much coffee or prefer a stronger cup. Don't try the ones with the tiny preformed paper filters because they are a mess to work with and sometimes the paper filter rolls over and allows grinds to pass through.
