That weight it's for a smooth aluminum rim it needs a tap on weight for a steel rim.
Uuummm... who put a "stick on" weight on a dirty rim?
So frustrating to say the least, got it worked out, great content and great information so when I do the 61 f100 I’ll know what not to do 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Craziest Story I’ve heard all day !! Just wow!! Hopefully it will leave now 🎉🎉
@@jginnovationgaragellc your story’s are the same for sure, I wonder if other people have the same problem?
@@chriscoesbodyshop I doubt it very much… I believe we need to write short stories articles about it and or do a podcast together!!!
That’s just too funny because just shows you that they were thinking like chess not checkers!!! Good Save for sure … I put mine under as well with a threaded plate on the inside top for bolts so under frame tanks use nut inserts and or u nut clips

Look good

So here’s my thoughts and hypotheses on the matter. The bearing race hold everything in place as it’s turning inside itself. So if the race is cracked then that’s a few 1,000th of tolerance that would be there that wasn’t designed to be there. So that would let the bearing itself spin with not having adequate pressure and support. So it would cause failure due to the fracturing of the race. Just my hypothesis though
@@jginnovationgaragellc I agree, you win an opportunity to hang with me a drink Red Bull 🤣
Im not sure how your adjusting the breaks but you should slightly hear the shoe touching the drumb... Not enught to cause any drag but just enugh to hear something. But when you spin the wheel it should not have any drag from the breaks..
@@billsmith360 that’s the way we do it, thanks for watching!
Holy moly Batman! That is SUPER SCARY 😱!!!!!! So I would take it that you will inspect the other side and well . And I would honestly say replace both sides with new bearings… also I would just touch bases with the manufacturer of the kit .. 😮
@@jginnovationgaragellc yes, yes and yes 🤣. I asked them what the rear seal part number was and told the the issue, they responded back with the part number but didn’t respond about the issue 🤷🏼♂️🤦♂️
I asked a question at the end of the video, any help would be appreciated.
That is terrible. Seems you can't buy anything reliable in the aftermarket world. In the old days, a bearing just didn't fail like that.
@@ShilohShepherd exactly right, at the end of the video I show the race has a split, did the race split and ruin the bearing, or did the bearing ruin the race?
@chriscoesbodyshop My guess would be the race cracked first. Possibly when the race was installed in the hub. Causing the bearing to fail. I have seen that happen before. Even more likely if they hammered it in with a punch or something similar. Wish I could help more.
@@ShilohShepherd I agree with you on that, thanks.
Ouch 😮
Something you might try: get some heavy grit sandpaper, nothing over say 120. Take it to the drums and shoes by hand, in a circular motion. The first drum shown looked clearish reflection, like it was showing the reflection of your finger instead of a shadow. If so, the old girl is glazing her drums, and the dust can act like water between two pieces of glass, they'll suction together and grab. It's pretty close tolerances between shoe and drum, as you know, could be they're close enough to grab and the 'popping' those chaps described are sympathetic strains on the components.
@@barericdondareyrion5998 thanks for the advice, thanks for watching!
