I like Maraska, but prefer Bistra from Serbia. Surprisingly (yes, I'm a bit snobbish LOL), the Czech brand Jelinek is actually VERY good - their honey infused Slivovic is actually addictive (first few sips seem harsh, then... you start feeling the LOVE). I'm Jewish AND grew up in the Soviet Union... Slivovic wasn't so easy to get in the shops, BUT... thanks to my dad's family in Jugoslavija (long story), we got it sent to us regularly. After we escaped the USSR, we lived in Jugoslavija and... HEAVEN. Slivovic and Rakija were part of everyday life (even as teens LOL). NOW... I'm married to a Slovenijan - we have types of Slivovic and Rakija for every occasion (or else). We live in Cleveland, Ohio - there's a massive population of Croatians, Slovenijans, Jews, and Bosnians here, so our state stores tend to be WELL stocked. Sadly, the highest proof is only about 60% (that's kid's level back in Croatia LOL) My favourite OHLQ shop at last visit had 10 brands - including the full range of Takovo elixirs made with different fruits than plums (the Apricot... mmmmm)... Great vid - though... in OZ does Maraska only come in that shaped bottle? Here it's always in the round ones.

Does Australia have the 40% version or the 38% version?? Here in ontario canadai got the 40% version for $48 I heard the 38% taste more aithentic This stuff is like water to me, i had 4 shots over a few hours, i didnt even need to chase it, but i did anyways with a slice of lime, basically just for fun cause it was so smooth on its own

Just purchased this bottle. Took two shots with lime and salt. Great! I put my tequila in the refrigerator. Just made a Margareta and enjoying that a lot too with this.

The bottle was also popular for making ships in a bottle back in the day.

Yes but I prefer the black barrel neat but you should taste the other Mount gay rum cheers from Barbados

We tried this, recently, and we really loved it.

Love this rum. Here in Oz we have local brands ie Bundaberg, but the Mount Gay offerings are hands down more delicious. Recommend them sipped with a new world cigar. Cheers

Tastes like honey, raisins, and palm dates to me I like it though unique taste.

Anise-Flavored Liquors are very popular in Mediterranean countries, Ouzo in Greece, Raki in Turkey, Arak in Lebanon/Syria, Sambuca in Italy, Pastis in France.

There is a really really good Japanese Gin, "KI NOH BI" with "H" after "NO" in the middle. It is a special version of "KI NO BI" without "H." I love "Roku" but "KI NOH BI" is really special. It is very hard to get even in Japan though.

1800 is a very good tequila for it's price point. About $35 CDN. And it often goes on sale. I always buy the Reposado, but I'll have to try the Blanco. Salud!
