Braves fan here, We may have lost the divisional round to Philly but I am happy Houston beat them in the World Series meaning Philly could not do something that Atlanta could do. Does not make me feel bad anymore after getting knocked out by Philly. Congrats to you Astros and Dusty Baker.

An FYI for all of you watching the 2024 World Series games ... All five were delayed in posting for two days by false copyright claims by Disney Live Events. Disney claimed that ads for a certain drug were in fact their copyrighted college football content. After two days, TH-cam allows the content to go public pending a response by the claimant. If thirty days pass with no response, then the claim lapses, although Disney can respond at any time and reject the appeal. Bottom line, enjoy these while you can. They can disappear at any time if Disney rejects the appeal.

I still have an old Joe Cronin era baseball autographed by the 61 Angels. Fritz Brickell and Bob Cerv were two of the 26 signatures on it. Must’ve been signed early in the season.

I've heard George Brett's perspective of "The Call" when MLB Network recently did a documentary on his life and career in baseball called "Brett" and I'm kind of in agreement with him. What else is there to say about Don Denkinger other than he made a bad call. It sucks for the Cardinals that they were on the receiving end of a blown call by an umpire when they were three outs away from winning a World Championship. But keep in mind, that Jorge Orta was only the first batter that Todd Worrell had to face in that inning. There were no outs when Orta came to bat, so it's not an absolute guarantee that the Cardinals were going to win the game right then and there. Especially considering that they were only up by one run with no outs, like I just said. And in the face of Denkinger's blown call, why couldn't Jack Clark catch a relatively easy looking pop-up on the first base side? Had Clark or Darrell Porter caught it, then the Cardinals could've in theory, made up for Denkinger's blown call since the ball (no pun intended) was again back in their side of the court. And keep in mind that in spite of all of this, Jorge Orta didn't even score as the Cardinals managed to get him out at third base. Also, is it really Don Denkinger's fault that Darrell Porter couldn't hold on to Todd Worrell's pitch at the 3:07:55 mark to Hal McRae? There were at least, two defensive miscues by the Cardinals in that inning that an umpire had nothing to do with. Are we supposed to believe, that the Cardinals wouldn't have unraveled like that had it not been for Denkinger's blown call earlier in that inning?

this game was better than any MLB World Series game in 2024

I'm here after Rickey's recent passing. I grew up an A's fan but was pretty young when they won in 1989. My dad told me all about the greatness of Rickey at that time I was a big fan of Rickey's after that. This was the first World Series I watched wire to wire. I was rooting real hard for the Blue Jays because they acquired Rickey in a mid-season trade. Of all my Rickey memories, his AB in the 9th in this game is one of the memories that stands out the most to me. It was classic Rickey. 4 pitch walk, getting Williams out of his game with the threat of his speed. I'm convinced Carter does not hit that HR if not for Rickey. I'm tearing up as I write this. RIP Rickey... you will forever be my GOAT.
