The first time we played it we had someone have shields and attack tokens boosted really high and we used that specific card you mentioned to counter reduce some of its attacks and shield. At this point from how you explained it all of those tokens they stacked would all disappear from that element card that they put on the offensive and highly defensive. We would put the “X” tokens to track how many shields and boosts it had left cuz of the overwhelming power they added, but your explanation on how that works is that all of those tokens would be removed from that element and turn normal.

Yes that is my understanding. If you use a attack or shield all are removed.

Sorry to farther clarify --- If the defender has 3 shield tokens and needs only one to block damage all 3 are removed. Same with an attack token, all are used. From the rule book I have: If you use an Elemental to attack, each boost adds 1 to that Elemental’s STR during the attack. After you attack with an Elemental with boosts on it, you must remove all boosts from that Elemental. Each shield reduces incoming DMG by 1. After an Elemental with shields on it is dealt any DMG, you must remove all shields from that Elemental.
