bad audio quality
@schweinebacke1000 he was at work not using a mic. Only so much that could be done on my end to fix it, sorry about that.
Ayyyyyyy !
I am excited for this one. I am building my breeding groups. I have done a ton of research, but there isn't alot of info out there.
@@GreenAcresExotics hopefully this will help out a bit
They jus chill I definitely believe millipedes are very closely related to isopods even if it’s a past ancestor there armor ther facial structure the need to be in damp areas they are legit just long big isopods
Nice episode! "Gateway Geckos" is a good name for a business! Funfact: it's the name of a local AZ community college sports team. How can we inform ourselves about which species might be going on the CITES list soon?
Is that Gateway community college lol. As far as CITIES I would think to check the website to see if any are moving up on the list like is is going from CITIES I to CITIES II
In-depth (and recent) info on Aeluroscalabotes has been hard to find. Great chat about an underrated genus.
Definitely not a ton of info out there, we were really happy for Monique to come on to talk about them. Hopefully people will start working with them more in the hobby.
Good one man!I remember when the Johor were around.Sadly another species we let get away from us.I remember when the taenicauda were more abundant.Derick Dunlop had some with green eyes and if I remember right he had a pair with the silver eyes.I believe each species had different tail patterns as well.
Yea it is really unfortunate that we let species disappear from the hobby. 💔😢
Good stuff, I need to expand into more species myself
I love getting new species, I love seeing different behaviors from all these species
Hey Congratulations!!!! Love the animals (esp. the picta :)
Thanks Wally, definitely got the inspiration from you 🙌
Great episode and great info.Jimmy is the man
@thesnapperkeeper thanks, we really appreciate it. Jimmy was a blast 🎉 to have one the pod 🎙️
This was such a huge help. I keep a pair of RTB C. Angulifers. Hope they breed next season for me.
I'm glad this episode helped you. 😊 This was the main reason to do the podcast. 🎙️
This sounds better dude!
@@dontaylor9630 thanks, definitely had to make sure it was a good one lol.
@@thegeckoexchangepodI was waiting for this one.Homopholis are high on my list
@@dontaylor9630 same here, waiting to get my group sent to me next month hopefully
Can add some meal/ super worms in with dubia to keep then moving in a dish.
Yea you can definitely do that, I like to see them hunt though. One of the reason why I (Jason) fell in love with reptiles was for the predatory instincts.
You probably already know this so apologies for redundant feedback... Anthony had audio volume that was too high...David had audio volume that was barely audible.
Yea sorry about that lol, I did notice that through out the episode. I might of forgot to turn on the echo cancelation tab before the start of recording. Hopefully i can fix the audio for Spotify before it releases
Nice knowledge transfer. I have found in enclosures 12 x 12 x 12 or smaller that putting panels on all sides takes away a lot of real estate and makes the space look way smaller. I would agree w you though that if you have a larger enclosure, giving them more perch spots makes a lot of sense. Thanks for all you guys are doing and keep it up! ☮
Yea definitely a little difficult in smaller enclosures. But for those big ones with all that vertical space, the lizards like the colitis and cophotes will love it
This was a good one ! Justin is one cool kat 🙌🏻
Another great episode! Thanks for being the change!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I give this episode a 9.6. Only thing keeping it from a 10 is Anthony missing.
Anthony's passion was definitely missed in this episode
@@thegeckoexchangepod Jason, you did great. Love your style, love Anthony's style and together, the dial goes to 11 for you two!
@SupremeGecko appreciate that Wally we truly do
Ayyyyyy !!!! Yes I watched this before it was released, and yes I’m watching it again 🤣 I can’t believe I missed this ! I did everything I could 🤦♂️ I drove to the next town over and still had no service, it was 4 days of hell ! This was a really special episode I was really looking forward to 🥺🤦♂️ I’m glad it went well ! And no one had to hear me go on one of my rants 🤣😬
Lol you were definitely missed on this episode Ant, I'm sure folks were tired of hearing my monotoned voice 🤣 😂
Great episode! I love working with Joe!!
@GreenAcresExotics thank you, it's mind blowing how much information Joe knows lol
Great episode guys!!!
Thank you, Nate was an awesome guest.
I have been preaching hot spots and feeding vertebrates to new cals and people never take me seriously.
They are all "experts" and I'm just some idiot.
@rickyswann4354 I've tried feeding them to my chewies but they wouldn't take it so I fed them to my tokays when I had them.
@@thegeckoexchangepod I have a mourning gecko colony I'm building for feeders.
@@rickyswann4354 what are gonna feed them to?
@thegeckoexchangepod cresteds, gargs, and leachies. I don't have any chewies anymore but would feed to then as well.
Great info. Those Tokay morphs are crazy cool!
Which one is your favorite Wally?
@@thegeckoexchangepod Oh, you know it is the Bright Red/Orange. But the baby blue is supper cool too.
Great video! These velvets need more exposure!!!
They sure do, all the velvet need some good exposure in the hobby.
🚨Correction, I was referring to ghost crabs , NOT vampire crabs
It's about time another YTer does this. I feel every long form video I do, I have to put text with corrections in from the wrong things I've said and cannot edit out! :)
@@SupremeGecko I caught myself the day after 🤦♂️ but I couldn’t do anything about it at that point 😬🤣 and not for nothing , the crabs look exactly the same 😬🤣 . Thanks so much for your support Wally !!!
Is there a product or a hack you use to catch and feed bean beetles and flightless fruitflies in a more controlled manner than just flinging the cup in the enclosure and hoping for the best?
I know for fruit flies I (Jason) would put them in the freezer for 30 seconds or so. After that, they take a sec to get moving and gives me time to dust them. After dusting, they don't get all over the place.
@@thegeckoexchangepod thank you for that tip!
I bought my first Geckos (2 EBDG's) from Armen at the Super Reptile Show in Anahiem! Thanks for the lineage info that you had shared on Morph Market.
Nice, what did you get from the show?
@@thegeckoexchangepod Lygodacylus Williamsi aka the Electric Blue Day Gecko. I bought a confirmed male and what I think might be a sub-adult female...too soon to know for sure. I also bought a couple of Ivory Millipedes for a vine terrarium project...plants, hardscape, gecko food, bean beetles, and other odds n ends. It was nice to meet some people in our local community. Thank you for starting up this podcast! One request/recommendation I had about your podcast was maybe open up a segment to field questions from the chat in real time? It would be awesome if you guys are talking about a subject that we could riff off your conversation and ask a question about something that was just in the conversation. Keep of the good work!
@@timotheosleahy4421 same person
@@timotheosleahy4421 Lygodactylus Williamsii sorry....gotta get my scientic names right!
@timotheosleahy4421 for sure, we always welcome questions in the chat and have the guest answer them. We barely just started doing lives on these platforms, we have just been doing recorded sessions and posting. But we do the pod every Sunday 4pm pacific standard time.
So much great information! Awesome episode! 🙏😀
Thank you Nelson, hope all is going well with you and the fam. Loving the videos you're posting.
@@thegeckoexchangepod Thank you so much! Same here can't get enough of your videos. Absolutely loving all the amazing breeders! Bringing to light the most amazing animals! Great job!😍
What a great show!!!! So much info. Just ordered from Armen. 5+++++ experience
Glad you enjoyed it Wally
@@thegeckoexchangepod I keep saying it but you guys are the perfect combo! Asking the right resources, fun to listen to, and you all have great guests! (present company excluded :)
Appreciate the kind words of encouragement. Hopefully it gets better and better.
@@thegeckoexchangepod It will. Stay the course and try to improve a tiny bit each show.
Definitely will do that, finally started working on those thumbnails like you said.
Keep up the great work guys. Keep up the great work Bobby.
Thank you Wally!
Hey gecko exchange. Ive thought about and discussed with bobby a bit maybe trying to feed button quail. Whats your take on it? Any other breed of bird ypu think would work better ?
Never thought well I (Jason) never thought about it since I don't keep much that could take down a bird. I wouldn't doubt they would try to feed on some new born birds.
I cant wait to find out if knuckles is a male maker for sure. Mauricio has some absolutely killer animals!
I will take 2 bobby!
🔥
What a fun show! You are both excellent at making a guest feel comfortable. Thank you again guys.
@@SupremeGecko Thank you Wally, it's always a pleasure to have you on the pod.

Outstanding video with tons of info.
Glad you liked it!

Johnny! Great to see you on the show.
Lizards are not good pets imo, they just sit there basking or hiding moving like once a week when they eat. They look cool but that's it.
Not everyone wants something so energetic. I know I do not want that right now in my life. Reptiles are great for apartment living, low maintenance and very little attention is needed as most reptiles like seclusion.
hes talking about the hartford county show in maryland thats back when dave and tracy were called hartford reptile center long before vpi pythons existed
This was so educational….. I think silks are a seriously underestimated feeder .
I could tell you a decent amount about genetics of crested geckos. Not calling myself a pro, but am friends with the Anthony Vasquez from lmreptiles and Tom fazza from geckological. They have taught me Alot.
TBH I have no interest in genetics at all lol. I know Anthony does since he deals with it. I don't have any morphs in my collection, I like the obscure wild types lol.
@@thegeckoexchangepod I must have misunderstood yall when talking about wanting to learn as much as possible about the industry. Since genetics are really one of the biggest driving force that keeps most species's in the hobby moving. Without that desire for most people to find and figure out how they work the industry would surely decline
My people! I love the black/dark chewies. I’m fascinated with 🖤&🤍 gargoyles…finally just starting my own 🖤&🤍 project with babies imported from Amicus Draco this year!
Enjoyed this episode and learned something new! 🖤
Thank you, I'm glad you got something out of this episode.
Such beautiful animals, i plan on getting some in the future
Same here, just gotta find the right one that I think will do well in Arizona 😆
