I was supposed to go to what would be their last show in the United States. Day on the green in Oakland, California 1977. I was 10 years old. Our neighbors invited me to go, but my dad said he didn’t want me around a bunch of “doped up hippies.” so instead I got the pleasure of watching him and his friends get drunk and making complete fools out of themselves.
I hear ya, my dad made me learn to play the accordion to amuse his friends when I was 8, wtf. He left us 3 kids a few years later. I was 10 in 1976, when my boomer parents gave up on us feral kids. 😢
