Sweet rig
So what is 305-65-r18s then ?
Looks small for a “35” tire.
285 isn’t a 35 that’s why 😂 it’s not even a 33. It’s like a 32.6 or .7
I ran 285s on my stock 2015 tundra, stock steel wheels for over a year. No issues whatsoever.
285/__R__?
Not stock. Rims are aftermarket
Can you do more videos in this?
Appericate the video. Keep up the good work.
Do they hit the upper control arm
Do you think they would work with the stock +60?
I don't think so, but I can't say for sure. If it doesn't, you could use 20mm or 3/4" spacers.
Where did you get your rims? I'm looking for something similar with my truck.
Had to find a supplier of Envy wheels in my area that could get them in, so check around for that. Model is in the description.
Will 285/75/18 fit on trd pro suspension stock rims as well
For tundra
I can't really say, but I'd imagine it would be close. You may need small spacers or to massage some components to prevent rubbing.
Are those aftermarket caps or did they come with the wheels?
They're just the grease caps.
only problem if you need one thing at the bottom you gotta take everything out
Yup!
Awesome setup. I deleted my rear seats but I gotta make the base plate
I’m glad I came across your video I’m doing the exact thing on my tundra. What’s the Mounting plate on the passenger side. I can’t seem to find it at Home Depot
Nice! They call that one the large wall plate (48-22-8487). I did a whole write up on it over on Tundras dot com. The thread is "How-To: Plywood Platform in Place of Rear Seats".
Do you have the rolling pack out cart? It could prove pretty beneficial for when you need to haul some stuff across the site
I've got three rolling tool boxes, one chest, and the dolly. Tried the cart, but was disappointed with it. Mine came twisted, and I returned it. Might give it another chance.
Timing chain tensioner
285s are not 35s, they are 33s
285 is the tire width in mm. 75 is the sidewall height in percentage of 285. 75% of 285mm is 214mm. Double that is 418mm, or 16.85". Add 18" for the wheel, and you have the diameter of 34.85".
Lmao use Tire calculator since you can't do the math yourself 😂 285/75r18 is 34.8. these Cooper tires are 34.84" tires. Don't believe me? Check Discount Tires and anywhere else.
@@romokid64 so you are telling me that a 285 is a 35 tire, as big as a 315 or 35 12.5
@@antoniocusman1970 285/75r18 is a 35x11r18. I am telling you that you don't know anything about tires and tire sizes.
Yes they translate to 34.8s... it isn't the width that matters. It's the height...
Wow, on stock suspension. I. Looking to put 285/75r18 on mine but I'm running bilstein 6112's top setting and 5160's with CB +3.
Any rubb or choppin doing
Ended up removing the mud flaps and picking up Husky long john's. Bent up the skid plate a little on the driver's side to clear at full right turn.
@@nelsoncarpentry okay ty
18x8?
18x7.5 More in the description.
what are these rims?
Envy NX43851
Chevy is the worst about clearance but the tundra is now a copy of Chevy look at them.
All about the offset, you can fit 37s on a stock truck with rock warrior wheels. The tires will hit the sway bar at full lock and the mudflaps, but you can drive it with very little modification.
You can fit 35” on a stock tundra pretty much. How is that not good enough for a 1/2 ton truck?
Thank you so much!
If you found it quick enough maybe a flush or seafoam risilone or marvel mystery oil well take care of it.Personally 1 oz of seafoam per quart for 100 or so miles clears mine up
Appreciate the suggestion. I did grab some Marvel mystery oil. I’m waiting for the noise to come back to diagnose it and try that oil out.
I do think marvel is the best product I have had good results from it,but I'm lazy and don't want to drain oil to add it unless I have to.
@@johnpowell5181 😂
Yup I used seafoam and can't believe the noise is gone!!!
@@Abdul-mh5zh awesome man
Putting that 1794 to work💪
That looks like a nightmare to work out of
Sure, it's not ideal, but it'll do the job. It's temporary until I buy an enclosed trailer.
agree
Nice
Sounds like you threw a rod….
Have since found the noise is only present while idling after 10 minutes or so. Goes away when driven, so not rod knock. It seems likely to be timing chain slap due to a gummed up chain tensioner.
@@nelsoncarpentry then yea, your probably right. Good luck 👍
@@I8ITSK8N Thanks!
@@nelsoncarpentry did you fix it? is serious? mine has the same sound when I turn on in the mornings
@@giorginamartinelli6471 It is potentially quite serious if left. I had been doing some other work on it so I haven't had it running during the cold weather to be able to diagnose it. It currently only comes up on very cold mornings. As soon as I'm able to I will upload a video on diagnosing it.
