How to apply Health Psychology to Health Promotion Videos: using the COM-B Model
A video exploring how the COM-B Model of Behaviour Change and the Behaviour Change Wheel can be applied to creating health promotion videos.
This educational video was created to help MSc Health Psychology students from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) to design and develop evidence-based health promotion videos as part of a project.

Clinical Exercise Science is also adapting Bahviour Change to promo physical activity, it's an interesting intervention on changing patients' minds!

This is a really informative video. I was totally new to the concept and I learnt and applied it by seeing only this video. Please make more videos on other frameworks.

I noticed that between Stage 2A and 2B it went from identifying intervention functions that could be appropriate for the target behaviour, to specifying a type of intervention (mass media video) to apply in Stage 2B. So when you got to stage 2B you already have something in mind. Did you skip a step? i.e. identifying specific interventions you could potentially use and choosing the most appropriate? What if you don't know which specific intervention(s) you're going to use prior to this process and you're using the matrix in Stage 2 to try and come up with some ideas. Is there a list of various different specific interventions you could use? E.g. doorstepping campaign, social media campaign, visual prompts e.g. posters/flyers?

Great Presentation. It simplified the application of both the COM-B and BCW models.

if i had watched this video initially I would have saved myself months of confusion. Fantastically explained. Thank you. I chose health psychology as a final year module and have struggled with the transfer of the models to real life intervention design. Thanks.
