    How did the house all these employees.

    Margaret Thatcher removed their citizenship bc Britain had to kick in $40,000,000 pounds every year to keep it running. The local government employees most of the islanders. It was later restored and the Airport was built to support tourism and balance the budget.

    As more and more modern designed and tested Space Rockets are become a lot more safe and reliable on Launch. With the concept of Launching rockets out at sea from a floated platform. Then Dry Gut Bay, on the far East of Saint Helena. Is the best possible location to have a floating Launch Platform. Just far enough away from the high cliffs but still sheltered when needed. 30 fathoms shelf in this area. Overall. Space Rockets built in The Republic of South Africa, of a small 20-25 Metre long type currently under development by companies like Orbex Space, in Scotland. With a joint collaboration of Launch designs and a range of payloads hardware. For commercial customers in Africa to buy. With 2000 thousand odd miles between the Island and the West coast of Africa. Saint Helena is best situated in many ways. The airport it's self provides a securior and sound location for new buildings overlooking the Bay, to be built. Tracking rockets as the fly away from the launch site platform. And controlling in-flight manoeuvres as they are required. Support vessel that bring in the Rockets by sea to the Island can be down range in a halfway point. Following each launch. A fleet of similar ships do the whole business, from erecting assembled rocket onto Platform. To transferring rocket fuel to support barge that housing rocket fuels safely. Until it is fuelled proir to it's launch. SpaceX Falcan 9 rockets will never be available outside the United States due the rules coverings them, If the US Government considers them vital security to the safety of The United States of American. It up to countries like the RSA and Britian to work towards a space partnership. By 2030.

    Have they figured out how to solve the wind-sheer yet? The poor people of St.Helena who LOVE THE ISOLATION.😂 I hope more tourists won't ruin the rare birds and fauna

    • @ronclark9724
      @ronclark9724 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The wind sheer is created by Mother Nature herself, there is no man made solution to eliminate wind sheer. Weather can be forecasted and measured to arrange flights for the least wind sheer conditions. Similar conditions occur in Madeira and the Faroe Islands. Flights may be cancelled or delayed like they are everywhere.

    • @Visionery1
      @Visionery1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      According to test pilots the wind shear is no different to other airports. They've adopted the Embraer E190 jet and after pilot training landings/take-offs are no longer a problem.

    This is a fantastic Architecture Project, It is hard to imaging all the complexity of bringing there the heavy machinery, fuel, cement, building that route, skilled and experienced workers........then fill up all that space with rocks....... in that extremely remote location........ wow, Absolutely amazing to me.. Congrats :-)

      The Airport will act as an easy access point for French tourists. The greatest attraction St Helena has is the grave of Napoleon and it will be French tourists who will be the main economic source for the Island if they do it right..

      AdstarAPAD The grave of Napoleon is in France, but he died at St.Helena after 6 years of his arrival there.

      Albertus Jansen Well i never knew... Well that was a big blunder by the british governement to allow his ashes to be returned to France.. That kind of shoots much of the tourist hopes in st helena in the foot doesn't it.... The real reason for the british building that air port must be strategic rather then economic. I wonder how much closer is St Helena is to the Falkland islands then Ascention island is?

    Runway length will be 1650 m. That is kind of disappointing. If you are building an airport from the ground up, make it at least 2,5 km long so that it can serve long haul flights.
