I understand rules--and I understand the times right now. But if you're going to make a policy about a particular flag, it's inexcusable for a school system to not understand basic history. She not only has the wrong war, the wrong cause, but the wrong century. Now it seems like it's not up to her (she needs to learn some revolutionary war history though) but the district should be corrected as to the original meaning of the Gadsden flag. It's understandable if they want no potentially inflammatory symbols being shown if not part of a lesson. I'm of the opinion: if it's disruptive, get rid of it. Have it all or have none. It's also disingenuous to pretend that the Gadsden has not now been co-opted to mean other things to certain groups. Unfortunately this has happened to various pieces of traditional Americana. It stinks, people have to ruin innocent things for everybody else. Little guy was doing nothing wrong and shouldn't be chastised for it. But in the least, make sure the origin of the item itself is correctly understood. The district's argument isnt going to hold much weight if they can't get the basic facts right. However, this is a school, this is not where culture wars are to be played out. Children are there to pay attention and learn. Kids don't need to be walking billboards for whatever the cause of the moment is. My family has always loved the Gadsden flag, we're Revolutionary War buffs, we live near Washington's Crossing, and have had one at our house for the past 30 years. But get rid of all of it: patches, symbols of any kind in schools IF it becomes disruptive as far as I'm concerned. The American flag is the only one necessary.

thanks for this post, I've been scared of driving my whole life and I have been working really hard to be able to overcome this fear. it really helps to see how they will instruct me along the path because I've been very nervous about not knowing what to do. I often ask for clarification when I am practicing and It was nice to see that they will repeat it if I ask. I have my test in two weeks and I really hope I pass on the first try!!! good luck to anyone in a similar situation ! update: I passed on the first try!! my instructor was really nice and patient with me as I was very nervous- got my license and a car recently … kinda crazy!!! good luck to u all

Crazy I'm at a school now and my principal just made an announcement saying clear see thru with nothing on them bookbags, "absolutely no exceptions", rather ur at work or school you have to follow the rules. Most schools don't allow this, it's the norm

48 hours from now, I’ll be taking my road test at Bakers Basin. Even though I’ve practiced it multiple times, I’m still 100% intimidated by the parallel portion…. Fortunately, I’ll be going with my instructor to go over it again an hour before the test, so that makes me feel a bit better, but fingers crossed that I pass! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Update 9/7/2023: I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!
