Stable helicopter for career without reaction wheels with working Mehjeb autopilot. Craft available on kerbalx.
craft file? please
In description
Octocopter as in 8 rotors nice build tho
Thank you, corrected
How can I throttle engines in PS4 vanilla using KAL? Is it even possible?
This is fantastic, and fantastically compact. Love this; great work!
What is KAL?
Robotic controller
Very nice rocket and good landing How did you make the fuselage/ what parts is it made from?
Structural tubes
@@ch3rnykh Omg thank u I generally make my reusable ones 3,75m and use flags since structural tubes bend or break easily for me
Man that's incredible
Love it! Well done 🎉
Да как же он хорош, я не могу, потрясающая работа
Спасибо) скоро выложу на kerbalx
Можно в дискорде получить копию atmospheric fx? Ее же нет в доступе открытом
Very impressive !
Nice NG
Nicely done. I've got fully reusable down but have struggled to get such an accurate landing down.
Круто
How do you place the center of lift on these kinds of rockets to make them stable both in flight and on entry?
Prioritize your fuel flow towards tanks that have been placed towards the bottom of the craft. Sometimes you may need to place smaller capacity tanks on the bottom to do this. Think of how an arrow flies from a bow, it's heaviest point pulls it through the air as it's falling. This will make take-off more difficult, but you can offset this difficulty with good gimballing engines and lots of control surfaces like fins. In this video by the time he does the flip I bet 90% of his fuel is in the very bottom of the craft.
@@TheEventHorizon909 i heard somewhere that you want to launch your booster with the center of lift below the center of mass, and once you deploy your payload, they should swap places
This is sick!
Very impressive build 🙏 What mod for reentry effects are you using tho?
AtmosphericFX
@@ch3rnykh Is this on CKAN?
Very nice personally don't like the airbrakes being ahead of the center of pressure but still very cool vid.
I was surprised by that too but it gives you the ability to swing just before landing. Besides they are only slightly in front because most of the mass is already the engines, I use the lower reinforcements in the super heavy in a similar way which are also in front of the center of mass.
What mods do you use?
Deferred, restock, volumetric clouds, waterfall, tufx
cool!

@ thanks!
very nice rocket! which mod do you use for the realistic sound and reentry visual effects?
Rocket sound enhancement and atmosphericFX
what`s a KAL ?
Robotic controller in KSP
Definitely the best way of transporting kerbals
This thing is absolutely fucking sick man
Good job! Helicopters are always hard for me to make, I will definitely try out this craft when I get the chance.
good helicopter
What is realistic in this craft?
Realistic roll, pitch, yaw, engine power adjusts to collective pitch, no reaction wheels
I didn't go for a swashplate because it would be big for this helicopter and unstable. And in fact, the ksp has a built-in swashplate
If you can make a small swashplate for this chopper, I don't mind. We could do a joint craft
Another difference from the real helicopter is the lack of a driveshaft. Other than that, it handles like a real helicopter.
@@ch3rnykh not bad 👍

Does it have full dissymmetry articulation, meaning flapping, feathering and hunting? If not go look up my tutorial guide on the ksp forum. I've recently discovered a better design method, so I'll update the post when I can.
Can you send the link please?
@@ch3rnykh my newest v2 demo helicopter isn't finalized just yet but I'm close to wrapping things up. I'll upload and link it on the forum thread when I do. Also, I shall write an accompanying post to show the changes and make the thread better.
