I got to participate in the alpha and beta testing phases for Toontown Rewritten which was really neat. I played Toontown religiously from the ages of like 11 to 15 (Online shut down when I was 13 and I continued on Rewritten), I'm 24 now and don't get on much anymore but it's so nice to know that it's there whenever I need a bit of nostalgia. I'm actually still really close friends with some of the people I met playing Toontown way back when. It's been really important in my life!

The original vhs had a holographic 3d thing on the over that jump scared you going from the movie snowman to the skull one

Literally just a couple weeks ago I saw this movie, so I looked it up and found the nicer one so I was confused, so I had the same question

I always remember seeing the horror version on the shelf in the video store as a kid. Obviously never got to see it because my mum didn't want to traumatise me with movies and instead opted to do so through her own narcissism and overbearingness but I digress. I do remember I started watching the Michael Keaton version which I found pretty terrifying in its own right but I don't remember much else. I was five when that movie came out.

The 97 film is honestly one of my favorite winter movies. When he gets hit by the car and flys through the air yelling "I can see your house from here!" Cracks me up every time.

You act as if copycat movies coming out a year apart wasn’t a thing that happened almost yearly back in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Back then we were all much more accepting of that because we knew that just because the plot was similar doesn’t mean you get the same experience or feeling from them. Nowadays, even the slightest of similarities in any movies and especially video games are practically hunted down by losers with magnifying glasses just to call them a clone of such and such. Remember when you could have several open world crime sandbox games come out over a couple years that weren’t GTA? Well, thanks to the mommas basement dwellers, it’s been 11 years since we had a good one and will probably have to wait another 2 years or so to be disappointed by GTA6

0/10 movies. None of the Jack Frosts said "Hee-Ho" at all.

I used to see both of these in video rental stores and both the covers scared me. I though they were alternate covers of the same movie, like he starts as a seemingly nice snowman but is secretly an evil snowman. To top it off, some covers of the 97 version DID have a holographic cover that had a nice or evil snowman depending on what way you looked at it. I swear these two movies were EVERYWHERE despite being crappy little B movies. The two covers are so distinctly burned into my brain even twenty years later.

It’d be funny if “one looked a little scary” meant the 1997 cover and “one looked super scary” was the 1998 cover. I only heard this at first and was really hoping that’s how you were describing the two video covers
