I was given a clip where you can slip a bit lighter in. On clip a small flip knife on it. Look up pocket knife with Bic lighter case.

That sheath is a typical Pakistan design. Nothing fancy. It's only meant to carry the blade. You need to disassemble the second knife. The tang probably is rusted and expanded, causing the wood to split.

That first one seems like a deal for $10. I think i woulda passed on the other one. Its kinda rough. But hey, it's about what makes YOU happy. Thx for sharing

I’ve started getting in knives myself, nice video. I don’t know a lot about knives or steel or stuff like that, but looking at some knife prices that range into three or four or $500 or even more, this seems like a good deal at $10.00.

You’re the first person besides me who carries foil. Practice turning it into a cup and you can boil water. Nice video.

I have Mylar ponchos. I've tried blankets in the wind and it wasn't fun.

I would make it bigger, so that it can fit a compass that works, an actual knife that you can hold and cut wood with. I would put more matches in there and added actual cordage. Some fishing hooks, because what is the point of having fishing line otherwise? These micro survival kits are just as effective as homeopathy. The only thing having this kit will bring you, is a false peace of mind. But when shit hits the fan you will realise you brought a rubber knife to a sword fight. Just make it proper or don't make it at all.

Hate to tell ya kiddo that was made for warm or hot meals. Ya got it wrong they were still using that thing all the way up to the 90’s. It’s so hot meals could be transported from far away kitchens or mess halls to troops on post or patrol. It’s not a cooler… well it is in a sense but used for hot meals. It didn’t mater because by the time you got it it was cold. Life in the field huh. You guys all sorts of military gear wrong. Not putting you down. An adventure up north eh? Thats a lot of gear-with this much, it seems you’ll most likely be relying on a vehicle to do what you’re planning to do, except for when you pack up just the necessities for a hike.

I just noticed, your bic lighter has not been prepped for survival use. #1. Take some needle nose pliars or whatever works for you to remove the child-proofing piece of metal on the wheel. If you're cold or your hands are wet or bloody, removing that will allow you to more easily crank the wheel. #2. Put a ziptie or thick rubber band around the gas release button so the lighter fluid doesn't accidentally discharge. (Its up to you. You dont have to do anything, but when you eliminate a variable for failure and/or not dying, why not do it? Doesn't cost anything but a few seconds of time)

Strawberry survival kits 📦 forever.... 😉 on a more serious note...if you're strawberry cradle had no holes on the bottom, it would have been that container the kit is lacking. I would probably ditch 2 mustard packets and replace w a baggie and a few water purification tabs. Why is it that everyone thinks that when I get into a desperate. Do or die, situation bad enough to need a survival kit, that I am suddenly going to have an irresistible urge to stop and go fishing? I could see it for a lifeboat kit where you might have a lot of time on your hands and need something to do but not otherwise.

I was wondering if someday you can make really specific kits. I live in the city, and I guess I’m surrounded by suburbs. What would a good small kit have or even a medium size?

Good kit to use all the bits & bobs we all have lying around. Always suggest adding something to carry your gear in - easiest is a shopping bag but I would add a few garbage bags for making shelter or something else.

You need a small sharpening stone and tape it to the knife sheath.

Good memories of my older brother when he joined the marines in 79 at 17 and i would love whenever he was on leave hed bring home a big case of mre....canned fruit cake was good..

Kit not complete without a tiny flashlight. Also the space taken up by the large oversized pack of matches + foil is the same as a space blanket but one will save your life. Reconsider putting it back in. The whistle is also up for replacement, or atleast a flat profile one, Water purifying tablets in normal flat medication packets would take up less bulk thst a pill pot also. I like; The little medal saw for emergencies, good bag, good cordage and good sewing kit (add an extra needle though) Piece of advice also, your microphone pics up a lot of background noise & rustling, consider a new one if you're serious about this TH-cam thing, (at the very least use software to dampen the audio)

You should have heavy-duty foil for cooking and boiling water. Yellow mustard is an excellent burn ointment. Place mustard on burn, then cover with foil, shiny side facing down. Wrap with gauze or cotton cloth.

neato; yeah your probably dont want to confused the tablets for mints when out in the field. Also, im gonna start packing mustard.
