Horrific car fire caught on video - I was sure the occupants were incinerated
มุมมอง 1.7K8 ปีที่แล้ว
I captured this horrific car fire on video while heading to SuperCar Saturday. This van obviously lost control, careered across the wrong side of the road, hit the curb, took out a traffic light and smashed through the traffic control boxes and then went sideways into some trees before bursting into flames. It was totally engulfed in an inferno by the time I got there ... I grabbed my fire exti...

    Getting ready to install one in my 4runner. Ideally behind passenger seat but because of the folding rear seats not sure if there will be enough clearance. May have to do in front of the driver seat. Love the mounting options that this bracket offers.

    I would like to see another video step by step. A lot of assumptions were made in this video regarding presumed basic ability. Not everyone knows how to do even basic stuff, as a previous male poster noted who drilled holes in his car; it is not just women. Guys without dads, fancier cars in the past required going to skilled shop guys more/ less do-it-yourself, more money/ leisure in America meant less self-reliance...now older generation cant see tiny writing instructions...lots of reasons. Let's see another video! :)

    Just a thought but if you bolt it to the front of the seat wont that stop the seat from being moved forward or does it attach to the sliding seat mechanism!.. I wouldnt want to put that behind the seat as kids/dogs et al will no doubt mess about with it out of curiosity & a lot of small cars with 5 door have very limited space , to say the least , at the back of a car chair... Most private hire cars have theirs fitted at the front drivers side & doing at the angle of plastic covering that slopes down to the floor at an angle to hide all the inner parts but ive never gotten round to asking how this was done as i wouldnt want to drill anywhere around that area incase i hit & broke or cut wiring behind the plastic covering... Sorry how do they do it!... So far the only thing i can think of is attaching very strong velcro to sloping side of the car & also attaching it to the same length on the fire extinguisher but im not 100% sure that would without eventually coming off because of spend bumps/pit holes & accidental hits by passenger's... If i sound like i don't know what im talking about that is because i've never ever felt the need to have a fire extinguisher in any of my cars through out all my year's of driving but im in my mid 50s now & im taking steps to have things like the fire extinguisher & any breakdown packs to buy as my ill health wont see my last more than 5 minutes walking with my walking sticks & i want to be as prepared as i can!.. Im surprised that those in Power that cant wait to think of ways to make us pay fines for anything they can think of & im surprised they havent made having a fire extinguisher in ones car as law & if you dont have one you get hit by a fine because of not having one but you never know as it may happen some day... In light of this still ongoing coronavirus stay safe and healthy wherever you are in this world... .....

      Sorry it has taken me so long to answer this ... I don't look at this channel very often (obviously). Because it attaches to the very front of the passenger-side seat rails, it only limits the very last bit of travel (typically 1"), which is not typically an inconvenience. The rear-mount idea is for people with 2-seat cars like Miatas, or pickups, or where the back seat is not useable, like 911 Porsche or FRS/BRZ. I agree - screwing a bracket to the floor or plastic covers is definitely NOT a good idea ... There are so many wires hidden in modern cars ... You hit one, it could be a very expensive mistake. That's why our bracket is so popular ... No drilling required. Velcro is definitely not secure either. My son had a horrific accident in a Gen 5 Camaro (thank God he was not hurt). His seat rails were so bent the seat could no longer be moved. but The Bracketeer remained securely mounted to the front of them, despite the accident. We are the only truly-universal Car Fire Extinguisher Bracket, with the #1 sales globally and over 35,000 sold since launch.

    *I initially purchased this mount to use with a bench style seat in my 29A Coupe•••>**allmy.tips/SeatBrackets?α** I changed my mind and decided to install the bucket seats Speedway offers. Of course the tech advised this wouldn't work I would need to buy another style of mount. No problem, I have this mount ready for return and have mounted the other style and bucket seat. Very knowledgeable sales/tech advised me on what I needed to complete the install. Thanks Speedy!!*

    Thanks for this product, Simon. And thanks for selling through Amazon, as I was able to order last evening and it arrives today. Finally, I can get the fire extinguisher mounted in a convenient spot, rather than rattling around in the back of my Honda Crosstour. I've been a believer ever since the old Ford Ranger than my kids drove caught fire and, having had an extinguisher installed in it, they grabbed the can, extinguished the fire and we simply replaced a little wiring and were on our way. I ordered the H3R black 2.5 lb extinguisher, to match the color of my car.

      @thebracketeer5134 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are worried about extra weight, then I'd be cutting out the burgers and fries, and taking a number 2 before driving ... An extinguisher in our bracket weighs less than 5 pounds. Besides ... If you're worried about weight, just get more HP and TQ!!! The Camaro I designed this for is 1020HP and 900lbs ... 5 lbs wouldn't make any difference.
