This channel will be full of stuff that I find interesting or beautiful, or that someone might find useful. I have a technical background and like to build things. Maybe this is a creative outlet for me that can be a help to others. As a bonus, I am having a blast learning how to make better videos! My favorite TH-cam channels are those by ultra-creative people. I hope to emulate them.

Bees Moving Day
มุมมอง 733 ปีที่แล้ว
Moved bees from a purchased nuc to a new, never used hive. Using all medium depth frames this time. They had mostly used 8 frames and starting on the last 2, now they have 10 new frames with black plastic foundation to build out. Hope the new Queen is in there somewhere. She is a "New World Carniolan". There sure are lots of bees! Did not sting me.

Someone should sheath the pipes in beautiful polished aluminum!!
When will this be available in California?!😂
they sound like demons who attack those that did not repent
He needed to keep the air pump running
This is a cicada sound
Those are CICADAS!
Please, did you read the pinned comment at the top? It was meant for you! 😇
@@mikereynolds8804 nope. Never did. Just going off of the title.😁
I was just telling a coworker about my Uncle Mike and his wood burning cars, he did not believe me till I found this video. Thank you for this, he passed a couple of years ago and this video is Uncle Mike as I remember him. He was one of a kind!
Thanks so much! This is one of my favorite videos. It was the Drive on Wood Meet up weekend where I first met Mike in person. I am glad you found the video! May his Soul rest in peace!
Everyone in the midwest calls these locusts but they're actually cicadas. There are no native locust species in the US,.
Finally, a confirmation of my personal experience. Maybe now viewers will understand! 😃
@@mikereynolds8804 Yep, I distinctly remember everyone around me calling these locusts. They were just wrong. :)
The way, I understand it is cicadas lose their entire exoskeleton and can be seen clung to trees, etc. in full. Where is locust do not shed it the same way not intact anyways. I agree with locus is not around much but that doesn’t mean that they won’t be in the next few years.
@@CryptoPivot the only locust native to North America, the Rocky Mountain locust, is extinct. The insects that midwesterners call locusts are actually cicadas.
i miss the country and hearing sounds out there
I'm 61. Reminds me of my childhood growing up in a house with no a/c. I look forward to this sound every year.
Это цикада а не саранча
да, да! Цикада, цикада! аа .. 😃This is a cicada, not a locust. True!!
IM SO GLAD THESE BEING LOCUSTS WAS DEBUNKED LOL- I always thought they were cicadas and I was right
Cicadas, yes. Not Locusts, locally referred to as locusts a long time before your birth. I never dreamed this would get many views, a tribute to my grandparents. Peace! 😁
They couldn't edit this ?
I like long boring videos, showing warts and all. I guess you can fast forward or skip to the end. 😁
Love it
This sound reminds me of North Carolina. I never hear this one in Virginia. Virginia's are more obnoxious.
Ah. Griling out in the backyard during summer evenings.
I'm here because I'm here from idksterlin's videos about the bombing of Hiroshima since he said that survivors said that those who were too close to the blast of the bomb but too far to die immediately and were unfortunate enough to survive were turned into what they called "Ant-walking Alligator people" their bodies covered in 3rd degree burns, some with shards of glass sticking out of their now burnt and leathery skin (their skin resembling alligator skin) with red holes in their faces indicating mouths. They walked around aimlessly, and while some might think they'd be in agonizing pain and screaming, they weren't because their nerves would be so burnt and damaged from the bomb's heat and blast that their pain receptors wouldn't be able to send pain signals to the brain, and they couldn't scream either due to their vocals cords being ruined by the bomb's effects. Instead of screaming, survivors said they uttered a constant murmur, like locusts on a midsummer night.
scissor grinder cicada, prob one of the most memorable sounds for me along with katydids and mourning doves
It's beautiful... Thank u
Mississippi at night
Growing up near St. Louis in 80s...this sound was my curfew.
Do these vehicles ever move???
I love em I just found one on m pourch without the film on its wings It left two days later found it again both times it didn't move as if dead but appeared fine second time it's wing films wereback and set It on the shutter next morning was gone a beautiful black and green color
Cicadas, not locusts! Locusts are actually more like grasshoppers and they don't hang out in trees!!
Enter the south in august and this is all you hear at night.
I think the new locusts are gmao
"Now eyeless and faceless, with their heads transformed into blackened alligator hides displaying red holes, indicating mouths," he wrote. "The alligator people did not scream. Their mouths could not form the sounds. The noise they made was worse than screaming. "They uttered a continuous murmur like locusts on a midsummer night. - Charles Pellegrino „The Last train from Hiroshima“ -
I live in rural Georgia, and those little cusses don't shut up! I usually love the summer bug sounds, but every now and then the unremitting cacophony really gets to me. Tree frogs, katydids and crickets are delightful, however! 💖🦗🐸🌛
i've heard that sound around my house all my life i always thought it was electricity buzzing thru the power lines lol
There is no way you believed that
that’s not a locust that’s a cicada
We call them “school bugs” in Toledo Ohio,You hear them the summer over for you
same
Those are not the sounds of locusts what you are hearing are cicadas🙄
Man, Argos snuck up on me this year and I was doing a bunch of other things so I missed it. Bummer. How many people came out?
About 50 people, 4 wood gas trucks including Randy's new build. Pretty good time.
@@mikereynolds8804 Nice. I'm glad it was a good time.
Sound like a modem..
Unrelated but that looks like a beautiful Summer evening
How would I go about getting information about the 2023 show?
check out the forum on driveonwood.com and the topic is Argos 2023 Planning. Link: forum.driveonwood.com/t/argos-2023-planning We haven't quite decided yet, probably second weekend in June.
No Those are cicadas. 🙄
Would it be possible to run it on wood pellets? What modifications do u will be needed if so?
that’s the sound of heat.
What type are those cicadas
Well, I wonder how he likes Biden in his really really expensive gas and expensive car license plates, and the EPA clamping down on these pollution he’s doing and the lack of wood because of his environmental programs
I'd love to get one. please post manufacture info or info on buying. were you going to work with others to make them?
Its Matt from thriveoffgrid.
💜 LOVE IT BROTHER alitte sin ~tech in the wood gas 😆 sin ~tech in the engine might quite it down some too cool . Tks for sharing
Thank you!
I love my locusts. Miss them so much when they go away at summer's end 😢
i moved to canada and love to listen to this and relive my kansas memories
I'm listening to locusts right now and my yard, LOL

Isn't that a cicada making those sounds?
