They only fight if it is absolutely vital. It's hard to feed or mate if you're injured. They are more intelligent than humans, they only fight for a good reason!

Chunk was the one that walked away 747 still pretty dominant

32 is younger and more aggressive. He has been biding his time over the last 3 or 4 years, moving up the pecking order. This year, he is declaring himself #1. And until he gets put in his place, he will be #1 bear at the falls this year. And likely for years to come. He has the size and aggressiveness to rule.

An interesting wake up call. That bite to the joint on the rear leg didn't seem to cause any problems walking, they do have some fur and fat to absorb some of it. Just hyperthetically it would be interesting to know what the bite would hav looked like on a humans hip at same bite force. We are quite skinny things in comparison ( on the whole ).

After last year chunk is my least favourite bear and this years display is not helping. Hopefully he settles into his dominance at some point and stops challenging everything he sees.
