The Ultimate e-Ink review for note takers - Remarkable 2, Kindle Scribe, Boox Note Air3 C and more..
How could I replace my paper notebook with something digital? Being a user of Evernote for years - which works great - I still used paper for certain scenarios. One day in Jan 23 a colleague showed me his Remarkable 2 eInk tablet and I immediately started an entire year long search for the ultimate eInk notes taking device. Lots of devices reviewed - Remarkable 2, Kindle Scribe, Rocketbook, iPad mini, Boox Nova Air 7.8, Boox Note Air3 C.
Let me know your thoughts
** UPDATE APRIL 24 **
I use this case that I bought on Amazon. Really cool for the money …. MoKo Case for Remarkable 2 Tablet, Ultra-Thin Magnetic Tablet Case

Healthtech Gizmos - AKTIIA 24/7 Continuous Blood Pressure Monitor / Wearable Review
มุมมอง 11K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This is an unboxing and review of a really cool new device from a company called AKTIIA. The wrist worn wearable measures your blood pressure, 24/7, and will help you understand your true blood pressure, as measured throughout the day, and not just a single point in time. Great for helping to identify if you really have hypertension (high blood pressure), hypotension (low blood pressure), or ju...

    Thanks very much for making this video. Are you still using ReMarkable 2 as your primary note-taking device? I am eyeing the new iPad 11 Pro with paperlike or other cover that helps with writing. I use EverNote for my notes and Kindle for reading which the iPad can do. It can also serve as my reading device for morning RSS feeds- but the writing experience needs to be good.

    Wow, this is totally uncanny... I have literally followed this exact path, including Moleskine, RocketBook, the repurchase of the Kindle Scribe and at least four different Boox... and have finally just repurchased the RM2 and it just feels like being back home... but with so many improvements to the software since 2021, just love the gestures that are now available, makes working with the device so logical, intuitive and most of all FUN! Thanks for telling your story, so glad it's not just me!

    Such a comprehensive review of all the different products I had also been looking at. I just need a good basic digital notetaker, and writing on the ipad kinda sucks. All the other ones just have so much extra stuff, I don't need all that. I have an ereader, an ipad, normal laptop and phone.. I don't need a digital notetaker to replace them, I just needed a digital notebook. Thank you so much. Also, loved the story of reviews as a throughline process from each different product to the next.

    I'm just looking for a way to digitize my paper notes so that i can search for them later. I have a specific question. All these devices rely on cloud services, but in my electronics world i just use Syncthing to keep my data synced between devices. Syncthing is a simple app keeping folders between devices in sync and excluding the need for a cloud. It's better for privacy i think. Could Syncthing be concievably installed on any of these devices? (You can exclude Boox because it is Android based and Syncthing should work just fine).

    Why the Sync is bad on Note Air 3C??? The remarkable has subscription. You didnt even tried Supernote. Also Kindle Scribe you can send your files through your e-mail.

  • @DigiDriftZone

    What do you mean by no cloud sync on the Kindle? - if you install the Kindle app on your phone, tablet and laptop, you can access all your notebooks on there. Also the annotations, while not visible on the kindle app, they do thankfully sync! -- I factory reset my scribe to test and when I signed back in, all my annotations were safely there. Amazon really need to make them accessible in the cloud though, I agree. I own a reMarkable2 and the Scribe, and while I love the reMarkable, the Scribe is much faster, has a nicer screen, has a backlight, battery life is better, conveniences such as magnetic wake/sleep, the eraser feels a lot nicer on the premium marker, a button to quickly highlight, etc - I use both and I do wish reMarkable updated the hardware as it does feel a bit dated now - considering the scribe costs 1/3 the price on sale!

      If you have no other tablet, the Boox is a contender. But my experience of color was that, at least for me, it offered no benefit, and I was constantly messing with the brightness and warmth controls. For me, it sounded far better than it was in real life. Have you got a Boox ?

    I am on the same predicament, I keep watching reviews but I keep going back to the remarkable 2. Even though It doesn't have a backlight, I want to buy a device for the sole purpose of replacing my notebooks for school/work, to have it next to me for note taking while reading physical books, and to make to do notes for myself. It is also important for me to keep the paper grippy feel, as I hate the feeling of writing on glass and would just go back to paper, also it need to be thin and light enough to fit on my computer bag or briefcase without adding much bulk to it with a long battery because I forget to charge my phone, much less an e-ink! I think it will be hard for me to find anything else other than the remarkable, I just wish they came out with the remarkable 3 already. Have you tried the Supernote A6X2 Nomad? I would love to hear your taughts on it.

  • @MrImOriginal
    @MrImOriginal หลายเดือนก่อน

    The real problem here is that the iPad isn't all that much more expensive than the other options. So even if the remarkable 2 is perfect for your use case, you're still better off buying the ipad because it's infinitely more product for slightly more money and if you go with an ipad mini, it's actually similarly priced

    • @healthtechgizmos1305
      @healthtechgizmos1305 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One kinda solution….you can use coloured pens on Remarkable. You cannot see on the device, but when you sync with a laptop or regular tablet you will see the colours. If you really need color on eInk just set your expectation that it is very weak, with minimal colours, due to the eInk screen technology. So if you are coming from a regular iPad or Android tablet it will look very very different. But it may be fine for your use case

    Do not trust such reviews because they only play with the device quickly and superficially to attract visitors, and do not test it professionally. The biggest drawback of the Boox device is that it is not possible to type correctly. To say it simply, what you type is different from what is displayed on the screen! I know, it's a very, very simple and general function that's been since the 1980s on PCs and Nokia phones, but it doesn't work properly on this modern device! So before buying, you need to know that it is not possible to type any text in books, notes, office files etc. Only a series of weird characters are typed. For more than a year, dozens of emails and messages have been exchanged between me and the support team, but this simple problem has not been fixed.

    This is incredible review!! Could you please help me? I am a student. I want to read and annotate/highlight PDFs (scientific), Substack newsletters, and Reports. I also want to get it back in Google drive (ideally a sync feature will make the workflow seam less: put in GDrive, access in eReader, annotate, access it back in GDrive). 1. Is kindle scribe the device for me or should I look into Boox Tab/Note or Kobo Libra? 2. Is there a good resale market in California? 3. Also, how is the annotation/highlighting and PDF reading experience in general ?
