Welcome to What I Eat in a Week: Marathon Training Edition! 🏃♀️
Balancing fitness goals with life’s chaos is never easy-especially during the holiday season. As my training mileage climbs higher each week and festive gatherings fill the calendar, I’ve been working to find the sweet spot between staying on track with my training and soaking in all the holiday cheer. It’s been a challenge, but I’m learning to embrace the imperfect and enjoy the season to its fullest.
This month, I set a goal to let go of rigid expectations and simply be. The holidays are a time for celebration, connection, and delicious food, and I don’t want to miss out on those special moments. Through this video, I hope to show you that it’s possible to nourish your body, honor your training, and still enjoy yourself fully. Remember: we don’t work out so we can eat; we eat so we can work out.
If you’re feeling the pressure of balancing it all, know that you’re not alone. Let’s remind ourselves that one imperfect week doesn’t define us. You are deserving of rest, joy, and every bite of that holiday treat.

@@francescabolchalk9806 Awwww, oh my goodness!! You actually just gave me chills. Having stomach issues as an athlete is definitely not an easy thing to battle. Finding what foods work/don’t work is a painfully slow process. Have faith and patience. And, you’ll get there. Also, yes!! The 80/20 rule is my go-to. I truly believe healthy eating doesn’t have to look like salads every day. And, that’s why I love sharing these what I eat videos because I want to show my audience that it’s OKAY to have a treat every now and then, it’s OKAY to eat out with friends, and it’s OKAY to eat more some days over others as long as it’s not done daily. I’m so happy to have you here. Welcome to the family. 🥰❤️

I did this one Saturday, since the "century" was the cyclist legitimacy standard....self supported and in So. Cal. Redondo Beach 50 miles up the coast, then a peanut and jelly sandwich at the half way mark, then back till I hit 100. I'll prepared, although hydrated well, I thought, but bonked and cramped the last 10-15 miles. But with the help of a few gels, I made it. Never again.
Awwww, congrats!! That makes two of us. I can’t say I’ll be doing this again anytime soon. Can’t even look at the bike at the moment without shivering. But, it was so memorable! And, I’m so grateful I filmed the entire thing so I can look back at this one day and go, “damn. What I would do to be that young again.” 💓😂
Congrats anwe achievement, if it were easy anyone could do it. I’m always amazed by how many young guys that couldn’t do thirty on a bike and they think they are so macho, so tough driving a big pickup truck! One bit of advice, a helmet is necessary, trust me I averaged 8,000 to 10,000 miles per year in the high Sierra mountains for fourth years, owned a bike shop, toured, competed, guided and raced. I was glad to see you eventually put on a helmet!
Awwww, thank you so much!! Yes, definitely was relieved to have finally gotten my hands on a helmet. Living in a rural area definitely has its downsides at times (namely being proximity to stores). Also, that is SO COOL!! It is a goal of mine to do ultras out in the mountains one day if my body allows me to. 🙏🏻💓
