Because the show is focused on a gate that opens in Tokyo. Now if said gate were to open in say, Washington DC then yes, an even more hilariously one-sided war would happen. Edit: If you want to turn the opening into a comedy, have the gate open somewhere with relaxed gun laws.

The Roman were around 1600 to 1700 level tech in fact they would have been a industrial nation if slavery didn't exist because a person is better than a early state tech or it's more like 400 year differences.

And it's so refreshing to see. Most anime makes swords look absurdly powerful. Like heroes / villains with a katana slicing through metal armor, deflecting bullets and the like. It's refreshing to see a series where gun vs. blade battles go the way they should.

@@Warfoki Those series usually involve magic in some way and the thing with it is you can make it do whatever you want. The magical system here is a joke compared to stronger ones. You know where a finger flick is enough to nuke everyone

If magic can do anything at the flick of a wrist of the protagonist, then there are no stakes to anything, since said protagonist is just going to pull a new spell from his backside and problem solved. If this is played for comedy it can work, but played straight it becomes a snooze-fest real fast. It's just lazy writing.

Sadly, it's not going to happen. The original light novel content went in a bad direction plot wise, the author 'borrowed' a concept from another well known source. It's not really technically plagarism, but the studio believes it would be a little too close for comfort. Last I heard they were in the process of writing an entirely new plot specifically for season 3. That being said, whether it actually manages to be done or gets stalled out is anybodies guess.

Well since the world powers also wanted access to the gate, the JSDF also had to protect against them So the JSDF is basically the authority protecting japan from a warring empire, and the special region from other countries
