This guy appreciates history, & I wish everyone did. He did a damn good job! If I had the money, I'd do the same. I've never seen a colonial home in West Texas, but there's gotta be one out there somewhere.
Old feldspar mine. I ride my dirtbike out there. Thanks for not putting the location on blast.
Beautiful restoration, Mike. Congratulations, and thanks for preserving the house and barn.
Pe,nsacola, FL now, but from Kingston. The class of 1972 were smart and fled NY's tax extraction machine.
Ulster county's "old mine road" said to be in existence when Kingston was settled in 1610, led to the hill south of the state prison in Wallkill. Was mined for pyrite which was thought to be gold.
Thé Word VIKING fascinantes me in m'y old age because I found a curious danish cord artefact some 30 years ago near my home on the north face or the St-Lawrence river Québec. I saw nothing ressembling it yet.Thaksin for tour quest and interesting nice videos. Roger
Thank you for doing this. Great house and story
thank you from 2024!
Beautiful work
Fiberglass insulation has smotherd many homes, even well vented it tends to hold moisture and during Summer months it can simmer the sheeting into mushy rot. That beautifully constructed house stood for those centuries because it could breathe unincumberd by fiberglass.
Beautiful, thanks for caring and for saving this wonderful piece of history, we lose so much anymore, and sadly not for a better, but for a profit.
From Hamden … never heard of this
I love this place I was there yesterday
Awesome camera work!
Absolutely spectacular house! Christmas must be an amazing experience here!🎄☃️🌨❄️🎅🏻
What a beautiful labor of love, and an impeccable restoration. Well done!
Maravilloso!!!

The Olmec on the east coast of MEXICO also told tails of bearded men on sailing ships comming from the east .
The norsmen also went all of the way to the bering straights , through the great lakes to both Minasota and down the Illinois and Mississippi at least to Arkansas .
Hey! I don’t know if you or other mine explorers know but there’s this great tool called The National Map by USGS that has most of the nation scanned by LIDAR available to the public. Could be a great tool to find “lost” caves in otherwise forested regions. Cheers!
I can’t even begin to explain how I’m living vicariously through you thank you so much for having an amazing passion for exploration xo
I’m so jealous right now !!!! Watch out for the “Trolls” lol
I tip my hat to you 😊 👒
Good thing he saved it. If he didn't save it, Connecticut would be one step closer to winding up like, mine and my ancesters home state, NJ. N. Jersey is a mess. S. Jersey is now in overdrive w tearing down wooded area 🪵, farms 🚜 for Warehouses and "Luxery" apartments 😢😢😢My home 🏡 😢 and the traffic in that area, another story 🚗 🚘 🚔 🏎 🚗 🚘 🚔 🏎 🚗 🚘 🚔
It's beautiful 😍
Nice job sir. I too went through a similar project but needed to remove the structure from the site. The house now stands 100 or so miles away on a nice 20 acre site. It isn't a museum piece but is certainly a comfortable home that has all updated technical systems. Looks old. Works new. Congrats on saving the house. I can relate.
I applaud your sense of what is truly valuable, and your willingness to roll up your sleeves and do all the work and the thinking and the research to restore a gem of history.
I would not be at all surprised if this man's spirit was the original builder and he reincarnated to save his home from destruction.
Beautiful boat. Very nice rebuild. If you don't min me asking, how much are you in it for?
Thats freaking awesome Mike!!!!!!!
Thanks Chris! Hope you're doing well!
That thing is so badass!
Constructive criticism, no disrespect; lose the background noise. The subject & your narration of it is great! The addition of distracting & annoying music ruined the vid for me.
I much prefer to live in my mid-century modern house with furnishings from that era. But I find these old hand-built 1600s houses endlessly fascinating. The labor that went into the construction is almost impossible to replicate today. Hope to visit the New England region in the Spring.
Thank you for saving this home!
13:47 It looks like someone was behind the hearth and moved out of frame? That or bro caught a ghost. Exceptionally well done restoration.
Try the Dempster. Sort of the same distances.
I’m from the area, just so you know it’s pronounced E SO PUS not esapus
Very Interesting how Vikings were using Long Houses a Thousand years before the Iroquois tribes. It is said that the Iroquois nations began using Long houses in 1000 AD. The same time when Vikings traveled to mainland North America. It is possible that The tribes learned of the construction, use etc while trading with the Vikings. Knowledge is power, and If members of a Nation come across a new technology, concept, way to survive, they will seize and adapt with it. It could have just taken a few young men to look at the construction of the house as it is being made from a distance. then reproduce in their own vision. TBH, the Iroquois nations had a much better use of the housing and adapted different levels where as the Vikings did not.
Thanks for the wonderful video, and a huge thanks for not ruining it with crappy background music. I don't know why some people feel compelled to add annoying background music throughout their videos.
How long does it take
Beautiful!
I have watched your videos so many times - what a wonderful heart felt restoration you have done. I am so inspired - I did sent a message on Instagram to tell you my thoughts on this beautiful accomplishment.
"The house was built on a knoll, facing the Sun to the South . . . and it had a small hill to the West sheltering it from the wind." This man's beautiful words are poetry to some of us, the beginning of a wonderful story of love.
It takes an idiot to deface a cave with graffiti.
